The Man Of Steel - Henry Cavill Version
After seeing the good quality pics online over the last day or 2 of Henry Cavill as Superman, I decided I needed a 3.75 inch version of him to go with my other comic book movie heroes such as Batman, Green Lantern, Thor, Wolverine etc. So here he is…

It would cost you dearly! lol. it litterally took me allday to make this. So i would need a days wage. Probably not worth it for the money id need. plus the cost of parts.
if you want me to instruct you how to make one i can do...?

Good job man, I think you've posted in almost every single thread today!
Very nice custom! I'm sure this will be better than any superman movie figures that are eventually released. I don't care for the look of this new costume at all and at the same time would buy a superman figure like yours. Great job!

thanks omega. thats a funny kind of compliment! hahaha. you dont care for the design but would have mine lol.
i was apprehensive about the design at first, but i really like it now. i think a fresher looks is what we need for a new movie which hopefully pick up the slack that superman returns had.

Nice work. I couldn't tell, did you attempt to make the dimples in the suit?

thanks alot chaps! and reaver strike; i didnt really do the simples, but i did do an undercoat of one type of blue, then kind of dan over it in stabbing motions with a fluffier brush with a darker blue, so overall it would make the blue abit darker with some mighter blue seeping through, and i was hoping it would kind of give it that dimple effect... looks like it semi-worked then! hahaha.
i really want to make Faora next. but the pics online of her arent very clear.

Holy crap, man. That practically looks retail. I love how you carefully sculpted and painted in the patterns even in the areas covered by the cape. Great attention to detail.

Any ways. I am really digging this custom. I love Superman. Prolly my favorite DC character. Is that a Thor cape you used for him? |

the cape is from an MU gladiator. it was left over from the Ares custom i used to make him with.
i wanted to put in as much detail as i could, but had a hard time because my brushes arent great, and my gold and yellow paints are all cloggy and half dried up. curses! thanks thechris, thats nice of you to say its almost looks retail! although if DCs 3.75 Gl figures are anything to go buy, that could be constrewed as an insult haha i hope by the time the supes movie is here, they have sorted themselves out and gone to hasbro to make their movie toys.

That looks really good. Excellent work with the gold detailing. And the shot with lantern and batman is pretty sweet.

Nice job. I'm very much ready for this new Superman. New suit or old suit, 80's Wall Street hair or not, as long as I get to see The Man of Steel beat some ass and not whine about love for two hours, I'm going to be a happy fan. And I'd definitely buy this. It probably has way better articulation that what Mattel will give us too.

Thanks for the praise guys.
Tiberius I agree, im excited for superman. very annoying its not coming out until 2013 though. I think it will lose alot of steam before then if we are this excited now lol. It will probably pick up again 6 months before it comes out. symbiote i cant say that im really competitive and must be the first, but when I see a new design for a character especially a movie version, I do like to have a version of it pretty quick. Not to beat everyone else, just for my own obsession and not being able to wait for the real thing. I wouldnt sell it, because for me it defeats the purpose of making a custom for my own collection.. i would be lacking a Superman then! haha. Plus this cost me like £20 in parts. Which is probably like $32 or something. Im not really one for taking commisions, especially a figure that takes a whole day to make, because the price would just be too high because of the time it takes to make. If someone wants to make me an offer to make them one than they are welcome to, but it depends if both of us agree on what we think is a fair price for 10 hours work. Id be happy to explain how I made it and what I used if anyone wants to have a crack at making one.

Tiberius good work on the superman prime, is that the gold one???
never be ashamed to be a supes fan! as we get older and know more about comics we tend to like other characters for different reasons, but i grew up like most kids loving superman and watching superman TAS so i always have a soft spot for supes. here is how I made Henry Cavill: Recipe / materials: Body / Head = MU Sentry Cape = MU Gladiator Super Sculpy Paint. Luckily underneath Sentrys hair he has ears and a fully formed head. Sentry is way too tall to fit in with most movie 3.75 inch figures so i took about a quarter of an inch out of his shins around his calf muscle then glued the lower legs back on. hes still taller than batman and thor etc but if i made him any shorter he would have looked too stumpy. The WIP pic shows where you need the sculpt and then all you have to do is paint him!
