So, I'm one of those idiots who has collected (and TD) completed every single Marvel 3.75" line. (Folks were even talking about Iron Man: Armored Adventures here...)

Anyhow they are all complete...all variants, X-Force Archangel, etc etc etc...sans one.

What is the rarest of all 3.75 Hasbro/ Marvel figures?

I have seen these, and look awesome.. I really like the removable mask for Wolverine, colossus is ok but not as good as the original, for me the holy grail would be the mail away figures.. I can see that nick fury costing me $$ down the road.. I wish I had the time/ money to be a completist.. but at the moment I'm not so I buy the ones I really want/ need when I can and hope/pray the rest show up at some point.

I grabbed one when they were on clearance at Wal - Mart. I didn't think it was that rare.

I have never seen them in the wild at all.
I'm pretty sure they are re-using that Wolverine body in the X-Force 3 pack.

For awhile, they were abundant, then "poof"! but you know, the difference from store-to-store, city-to-city seems huge after reading everyone's takes.

Same here, never seen one on the hunt once.

And I hope they repaint the X-Force version into a standard yellow and blue version for an upcoming MU wave.

I only saw that Wolvie/Colossus pack one time, and I passed on it. Kicking myself for not getting it while I had the chance.

I think the holy grail for me in the MU line might have to be the SDCC Exclusive Galactus on giant card. He is too awesome for words. Yes, he is the same as the version available at retail, but just the fact that he's on a giant freakin card is almost ludicrous. I love it!

That's exactly how I feel about it lol. And I believe it's a pretty rare item. How much is your comic shop selling it for?

I am not to sure about "holy grail" but here is a list of figures I find VERY hard to find and usually don't go for a "fair" price on ebay. Here we go:

X-Men Origins Line:
Cyclops
Iceman [although I finally found one for 3 bucks!]
Colossus
Sabertooth and Blob pack
Wolverine on bike with Sabertooth
Colossus and Wolverine 2 pack
Movie version Deadpool.

Spider-man toyline:
Carnage [finally found him too, once, and only once since then]
Rhino [Seen twice, bought once =3]

Marvel Universe:
Flame on Human Torch
All of Thanos wave
Dr Doom and Absorbing man Comic Pack
Storm and Nightcrawler Comic Pack
Captain America and Klaw comic Pack
All of Vision wave [saw house of M spider-man, passed on it. Still wanting Hasbro to make a fricking House of M Hulk...]
Ms Marvel [She was a pegwarmer back in the day, all I see now is classic ms marvel]
All of WWH wave

Thats about it

Has the Galactus variant (dark colors) ever even been spotted at retail? I always look, too, when I see him on the shelf. But to no avail. The only place I've ever seen it available is online.

I vaguely recall reading online that the variant Galactus would be an online item only. Like I said vaguely recall, brain injury and surgery tends to scramble the neurons.

I think it's hard to distinguish what's rare with stuff that straight up just hasn't been released in your area.

For instance I've never seen Mystique on the pegs, but I've seen her wavemates so know she's been there.

Thanos on the other hand I've never seen any of his wavemates, so not so much rare as non-existent.

I reckon MU Nick Fury is the holy grail of Marvel 3.75 as he's never been at retail and doesn't have a (reasonably) easily available alternative like Archangel (assuming you don't want an Ultimate version).

Honestly? I am going to say that Astonishing wolverine IS the holy grail of MU figures. I will put it to you this way, I was hunting for him last week and he simply did NOT exist online. There is no other figure in the whole line that you can say that about, be they overpriced or not.. you can find any of them online.

Wolvie however, was NOWHERE.. and I bookmarked that ebay find 3 days ago but have been watching the price climb so ridiculously (who taught these guys to ebay.. why bid when you have so many days left? idiots XD) high that I gave up on ever purchasing him.

I know that the xforce 3 pack will use that body and a new head sculpt so honestly.. it would be foolish to spend that much on him when you KNOW you are going to get a variant blue/yellow down the line from that release. I mean, if you think I am wrong go ahead.. try to find him somewhere other than that 1 ebay hit, you wont.

I tend to agree, I've NEVER seen him in the wild, and the one time I could have gotten him through HTS for MSRP, I waited a few weeks since he wasn't selling, and wham the day I went to order him they sold out.

I've been begging for it since I saw that figure, but preferably with the new X-Force 3 pack head.

Cause really, we just need him, emma frost, and beast to finish the astonishing X-Men now.

Personally, I'm hoping all 3 are in wave 5 2011 to coincide with X-Men First class.

I've seen that FBS Wolvie a TON of times...

It was not that rare to me.

Personally the RARE MU figure for me was WINTER SOLDIER W/ LONG HAIR.
