Anyone know for sure if they used Alan Oppenheimer as Skeletor?

I saw the Skeletor one last night. Well done. Still not buying a Honda minivan tho.

GI Joe asks Jem for a dance & Jem is your typical bitch. Little girls see this & think it's cool & that's why it's almost impossible to find a decent woman these days. Television mind control at it's finest!

Or, you know, super creepy dude stalks her until she's sitting in her car and has to rappel up a dash board and feels entitled to some companionship because he chased her down and had her basically cornered. Then he continues his creeper mentality when he's shot down. Little boys see that and think it's ok to be overbearing stalkers and then act like morons when they are, unsurprisingly, rebuffed.

How about the Skeletor one. It totally advocates using the rear-view camera to line up and back over your rivals. Little kids see that and think it's ok to use Honda's to run over their perceived enemies.
I didn't get a chance to watch all the other ones just yet. But I'm sure there super subliminal hidden evil stuff in there too.

Great. All these commercials do is make me feel old, because anyone who is younger than 35 couldn't even afford one of these MOM vans. Way to demograph. It's like using a CGI of Archie Bunker for LifeAlert. #wanttoslappaPRperson

I didn't get a chance to watch all the other ones just yet. But I'm sure there super subliminal hidden evil stuff in there too. Jem is for when you're a 40 year old mom of four and just want to feel your inner slut again with a soldier guy who makes innuendos. Failure to watch cat calling video. Strawberry Shortcake is the pants. Always. And narcissistic. 'I wish it smelled like strawberries?' More like I wish it smelled like my failures. Skeletor... he just represents the effeminate metrosexual or LGBT who wants to have it all in a minivan. Gumby.... if you're younger than 40, your question should appropriately be 'Who the #$!@ is GUMBY'? But really, its for the 19 year old stoner kid who won't leave your basement, and is running an errand for pizza rolls while possessing his 2 legal oz of 'Strawberry Fields Forever'. Why? Mysterious Cave...whoooaaaa.... I just feel such failure in this marketing, not because they're trying to appeal with cutesy retro characters, which was probably the original intent, but because the same reason we have reinvented so many 80's characters, the logic doesn't fit for a lot of stuff anymore. But that's okay, buy a Honda! Last edited by Dormamu; 11-11-2014 at 10:10 AM.. |

Well that was a fun trip into the woods.
How about we use this point to bring it back around to something a little less heavy. Also, still can't find out if it's Oppenheimer as Skeletor.

Those commercials are weird. The relevance of the toys eludes me. Suppose I might feel differently if I grew up in the 60s.
I drive a Civic, and it's a great car generally, but one day I would love to take out the overcomplicated touchscreen and do this to it. Office Space - Printer Scene (language warning) |

I think some of you guys are reading wayyyyyy to into the subtext! It's a commercial for Hondas, not a deep exploration of modern American sexual dynamics. The part that make's me feel weird is having a car company marketing Minivans at my generation. a couple years and we're going to have He-man selling us life alert bracelets, the Ninja Turtles slinging some "bodacious" retirement solutions through AIG direct, and Papa Smurf telling us how he dealt with erectile dysfunction using Cialis and Smurf Berries.
