This is really just a teaser though I think. I think there will be more figures than just these, Hulkbuster included. Plus I don't see Hulk getting a stand either. Still, its a cool teaser.

It looks like the stands read, top to bottom;
Front row; Hulk, Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow Rear row; Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Vision, Hawkeye, Ultron. |

Ever since I heard that the Chitauri have something to do with Ultron, I can very much see it in the designs. It looks like the Chitauri and The Terminator made a psycho baby. I love how Ultron looks except for him having regular eyes. I am too used to the big red "spider-man type" lenses eyes.

I do love the AoU look of Ultron. I can see the Chitauri influence too, if they really are connected. I will always love the "spider-man" type eyes, but old Ultron here looks great translated to the movie universe.
As he is my favorite villain, I do hate the origin changes, but as long as Tony "Mary Sue" Stark isn't the sole-creator of the character in the MCU, I'll be fine. Also: Bring on those Legos!!!! |

Anyone think ultron may get the big spidey eyes as part of a special attack move?
It looks like the lines for those eye shapes are already on his face, so what if parts of his face collapse in, revealing the big red eyes shapes, which he then shoots beams out of? |

Yeah, like he changes into a battle mode which more resembles his classic head. I overall like what we have so far, but that little extra would go a long way for fan service.

I never heard any rumors of Ultron having anything to do with the Chitauri, but I avoid anything that could be spoiler-territory. I'll admit the visual similarity but to be fair they both just heavily feature skull attributes. It's possible some Chitauri weapons were reverse-engineered to help them make Ultron. I'm guessing/hoping they'll have Banner help Stark make Ultron, but it does seem to have been primarily Tony's work.
So I think the only thing Tony will have to do with it is that he basically brought Ultron back to life. As long as he didn't make the program I'm more okay with it, because Ultron's personality was completely tied to who made him. It's a nit-picky thing to gripe about, but if they're going to veer away from Ultron's comic origin, I at least am happier knowing Tony Stark didn't flat out make it. Because I do not need another arc where Tony feels bad about his inventions or whatever. Even though we're probably getting that anyway. Sigh. And Iron Man really is my favorite hero, but damn, have the movies turned him into the Mary Sue of the MCU. That would be so cool. As it is, the "Ultron Prime" we have seen(from the cover of Entertainment), looks a lot like the Annihilation Conquest Ultron sans cape, which I am completely down for. Those extra red lines on his head sell that look big time. Last edited by scarecrow; 01-11-2015 at 03:32 PM.. |
