No alternate ummasked head sculpt? I haven't watched the show yet, so is this the Mandalorian equivalent of a generic stormtrooper?

The Mandalorians in the show literally have a rule against removing their helmets. This character is an individual but the "heavy infantry" label is misleading and does make it sound like he's one of many generics.

He was actually played/voiced by Jon Favreau and the character is named Paz Vizla, but I don't think that's actually been said in the series so that might be why they went with a generic name.

I could tell Favreau was the voice of the guy but I didn't catch that the credits gave him a name. Interesting, and perhaps deliberate, since Favreau voiced Pre Vizsla in the Clone Wars and then this is Paz Vizla. The spelling is different but the characters could be related, unless it's just a throwaway reference.

That's awesome! I knew he was played by Favreau but I hadn't heard the rest.

It looks like they made him too skinny and lanky.

I think that Favreau just did the voice for the character. He's way too fat to have actually played him.

Yeah they did it Vader-style where he's the voice and then someone else was actually in the suit, funny enough according to IMDb it's the same guy who played the big brute at the bar in the first scene of the first episode.

Is the character depicted convincingly in-flight? What I mean is, it looks about as aerodynamic as Iron Man MK1, which is to say, not at all. I have trouble imagining this big hulking figure in the air.

Considering Star Wars threw physics out the window for basically everything else, does it really matter? As I recall though when he was actually full-on flying he was a little wobbly and had his arms out to kind of steady himself.

Since as the mandalorians say "That is the way" and once they remove their helmet in front of people they are no longer considered a mandalorian. |

Like En Sabah Nerd said in the show it's apart of their tribe belief to not remove their helmets infront of people. A bit spoiler for you in episode 4 The Mandalorian (main character of the show) explained that a bit only they remove the helmet in private to eat or other stuff but never remove it infront of others.
Since as the mandalorians say "That is the way" and once they remove their helmet in front of people they are no longer considered a mandalorian. |

The perspective is appreciated. Looking at the photos, I'm struck by the attention to detail. Would they put so much effort into a character that we're not going to see again? Do you sense that he could turn out to be important?
Anyway, you've sure got me stoked to watch the show! Thanks, all. |
