Love the effect they've got with the jeans on this figure and the overall sculpt is amazing, i think his back could be bigger but until we get better pics i'm not gonna judge. I think this guys gonna have to crouch to fit in a detolf, can;t wait to get this guy

I wish they weren't $150 to $300 each, or I would buy these in an instant! I love Hot Toys level of detail. Some of the toys, when placed against a proper background, are almost indistinguishable from the real actors without a second glance.
I was worried about Hulk, most of all, because he doesn't have a costume to hide the toy skeleton. From the looks of the preview, there aren't any moving joints... so I'm now very curious... Are they using a synthetic skin (a la Jurassic park dinos) or is Hulk more or less a statue? Can't wait to see more! |

according to HT it isn't a complete rubber body, but that means it must be mostly a rubber body with joints underneath and some cut joints to allow greater articulation in the shoulders hips etc. I just hope they get the thickness of the rubber right so it doesnt hinder articulation too much but also doesnt fold up easily or tear because it's too thin. All HT are pretty much slightly poseable statues with accessories and real fabric clothes tho.

If I was ever going to buy a Hot Toys figure, this one would probably be it. But of course I would need another regular HT figure just so people would get a better idea of scale.

this is a pretty big project for HT, their Batmobile was awesome and so is Iron Monger by the looks of it but a well articulated 16"+ Hulk figure will be hard to pull off well. I'm getting one no matter what, i just hope it lasts and the materials and methods they use wont cause issues in the long run.

Like I said on Sideshow freaks...
SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!!!! Quote:
It looks like Hot Toys is in the beginning stages with this...it seems they have only decided on the shoulder joints and wrist swivels so far. From what I've read, he will not be rubbery plastic over an endoskeleton...but a harder body like the super preds, with gloss paint to make his skin look real. SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!!!! I would actually consider the majority of my HT collection to be VERY poseable, with the exception of a few. They are definately not statue like. I can usually pull off very dynamic poses, on par with Marvel Legends, and Play Arts figures. Some of the clothing can be restrictive...like Thors chest piece, but even with Superman and Captain America's boots...the rubber has enough movement and elasticity to allow the ankle joint underneath some descent movement. Hell....Ghost Riders's boots don't hinder his ankle movement what so ever. The only really restrictive boots I've come accross, are the boots on my super preds. It looks like Hot Toys is in the beginning stages with this...it seems they have only decided on the shoulder joints and wrist swivels so far. From what I've read, he will not be rubbery plastic over an endoskeleton...but a harder body like the super preds, with gloss paint to make his skin look real.

They did do a Wesker with led eyes, so it's possible, but I don't think banner would warrant enough demand.

I'm at least hoping what has been said about the "Super-Pred" like body is true, and the joints that are visible in Hulks shoulders seem to indicate this. I think this is just a sculpt with only a few joints cut so far. Quote:
Here's to hoping that the rumors of the hard plastic is true, and no rubber is used in the making of Hulk Last edited by Optimatron; 05-03-2012 at 06:53 PM.. |

My Dark Knight Bats seems to have held up ok. I can post a picture if you guys want, but I think you might just have seen some examples of ones who were a bit weathered.

I'm talking about the documented problems I've seen of the rubber hot toys uses degrading in different ways. Some of the problems include either rubber cracking, or secreting a type of oil. There are many theories as to why the suits sometimes have these problems, and with the Keaton Batman...it is theorized that the oil is due to a chemical reaction between the rubber of the suit, and the plastic of the utility belt. I've also heard of this samething happening to The Dark Knight Batman figures, and Batman Begins. 1/6 DX09 KEATON BATMAN: residue in abdominal area, has yours shown signs of it? - Sideshow Freaks You can check out the link to read up on some of the problems people are having. However, I'm sure there are just as many Batman figures that have no problems. It's just the luck of the draw when it comes to qc in my mind. I'm hoping by the time Arkham City Batman is released Hot Toys has refined and fixed this problem...I think they already tried switching to a new kind of rubber for Keaton and the "leaks" still showed up.
