Oh man, new images have been leaked of Hulkbuster, including a shot of the Hulkbuster armor open with mark 43 inside.

Unfortunately, not a figure inside, just a bust.

Ha, I should have clarified that. I figured it would be like Hot Toys' Obadiah Stane in Iron Monger. Ready to PO this bad boy. Just trying to decide if I'll be giving up my arm or leg. Perhaps both?

It's already available for PO in HK for what is the US equivalent of like $650 or so. I am hoping SSC will have it for $750 or less. Which considering it's size and features, isn't that terrible. We'll see though.

I'd be okay w/ $750. I'd hope it wouldn't be THAT much more than HT's DeLorean ($690).

Hopefully we'll get the PO today. I think for me, forgetting about the price, since I keep all of my Hot Toys packaging, I have no idea where I'm going to put the huge box this thing is going to come in.

Considering the size, weight, detail, poseability, and the fact that we'll get the mark 43 head under the helmet, ala iron monger, the price is not awful.

I just preordered at SSC with the payment plan. I never do up front. it's paid in 9 payments starting in October this year of about $92 per month. That's easier to digest and budget for on my end. There is an 80-something dollar amount that is a non-refundable down payment up front though. I can't wait. This is going to be the holygrail of my HT Iron Man display!

Totally awesome!
Now, this conforts me when I tought the Marvel Legends Hulkbuster would cost me a leg! At last I could re-sell the undesired comic figures to spare a bit! |

Initially, BBTS's listing for Hulkbuster did not mention a deposit, which surprised me as I remembered Iron Monger had required one. The listing has since been edited to include information about a $100 non-refundable deposit.
According to the note I received from them yesterday, they'll be hitting our cards on Monday for the $100, and for everyone else going forward. The notice was to provide ample time for folks to cancel if they're not amenable to it. It's going to be a long wait! |

This made me realize all of a sudden how much we need a hot toys sentinel. Not one of the ones from the movie with the humidifier in its chest, im talking the classic comic pink and purple version.

A series of separate neck armors? Seriously? At the price and size of this figure, I see *NO* reason why it isn't a movable feature. I mean seriously. We know they can engineer that without much problem. And it's not the like the inner Iron Man figure is removable.
The figures still look great, but Hot Toys seems to be cheapening the overall value of the figures to collectors/fans. The improved articulation is a must and while greatly appreciated, that type of design detail should have been there from the start. This is a super expensive figure to not have these basic design perks. |
