I'm hesitant to buy any high priced collectibles from this show given how much stuff changes. Gideon has been interesting so far, but he may just end up being a flash in the pan in the longterm. Kind of like Krennic - good character, but not something I want to spend a couple hundred dollars for.

I like the figure a lot in general though, I think the sculpt is like 98% of the way there, there's something about his eyes/cheeks that are a little off, but obviously it's great overall. I do wish it came with a light up saber arm and I wish the swinging blade had the crackling effect throughout the blade. But anyway, definitely going to order. |

That's why Hot Toys should spend more time on the Original and Prequel Trilogies instead of working on the flavor of the month. |

There's literally no way this is a flash in the pan at this point. Two seasons and the most celebrated form of Star Wars since basically the OT.

The two seasons so far work out to be as long as 2-3 movies and each season has had a cohesive overall plot so I'm sure it'll be remembered. But I think a lot of the characters will be forgotten by most over time. If I were to get a collectible to represent the show I'd go for silver Mando and Child in the pram since that seems like the iconic imagery that'll stand the test of time. However, for me the enjoyment in this show is in watching it and absorbing all the fun little touches. I don't really feel the need to have something in my collection to represent it.

HAD the potential to be a "flash in the pan". HAD. After two incredibly successful seasons, a S3 renewal, and runaway merchandising sales we're way beyond "flash in the pan". We're running headlong into "canon enhancing juggernaut".

People are saying that The Mandalorian is the best Star Wars anything since the original trilogy. I'm inclined to agree.

Even a one-off like Krennic is still an amazing figure to have with a group of Imperial Officers- I don't get how his one appearance makes him any less valuable to a display than Tarkin. The only thing that I have any issue with when it comes to my HotToys is the costume changes and upgrades between MCU movies... Not THAT is frustrating. lol

I'd probably put it as OT, Knights of the Old Republic and The Mandalorian as far as SW that is universally lauded.

Mando is definitely one of the top things EVER to have the Starwars brand on it... pre- or post-Disney. Mandalorian is not only great Starwars, it’s just a damn good show, period. Very high praise since I consider Starwars to be a mediocre franchise overall.
It easily tops the prequel trilogy, solo, and 7-9. If you binge watch it, it’s like a movie almost, and I’d put it at the top with A New Hope and Rogue One.

Indeed. If Disney releases a S1 and S2 "movie cut" that was simply all episodes edited together removing chapter breaks (Or hell...leave in the chapter title breaks.) it would feel like one of the most epic SW experiences ever released.
