No unmasked head sculpt? Seriously?

I believe the "Movie Promo" versions are just reissues with less accessories. If you got the Homecoming version, that included the unmasked head. The proper Far From Home versions will also likely include unmasked head sculpts.

I haven't been collecting very long but some (upset) comments I've been reading say the opposite in that they're usually unique releases. Last year's movie promo for IW was Captain America with one extra accessory, so not that unique. I think they're not doing too many different things for them now.

This just awoke a huge craving for a HT Raimi era Doc Oc. That’d be incredible.

If less accessories means a lower price, im for it. It looks like this is up on sideshow for $204. Not bad. I missed out on the original release so this is a good way to get it.

And seriously can they stop dicking around and just announce endgame rocket (which we’ve already seen), fat thor and hulk?! Maybe SDCC.

I would think people who collect $200-plus figures would worry more about accuracy as opposed to "getting their toys" as quickly as possible. They got lucky with Cap (Mjolnir repack and modified shield) but screwed up Thanos (Guantlet on left hand), perhaps now that all these companies have had time to digest the film they can put out more accurate merchandise. |

This figure encompasses almost every issue I have with Hot Toys: Laziness, redundancy, milking licenses, quick cash grabs. I think the only thing missing is "exclusive accessories".

Looks neat, but pretty glad I'm not interested. It looks like a Snake Eyes figure or something with no spider logo at all. I like the flip up visor effect, but basically zero accessories aside from the base is a put off too.

Looks meh. This will be an easy pass. Thank god I was able to get a hold of the scarlet spider though, that one I’m stoked for.

I'll be getting that Stealth Suit Spider-Man and the movie promo one. I got the Iron Spider figure and he is not bad plus I can use the Tom Holland head from that on those two figures.

I'm assuming the "unannounced accessory" is some kind of spoiler.
And why is the unmasked portrait blurred out like on an episode of Cops? Is the sculpt not finalized yet? |

Usually, the unannounced accessories are indeed spoilers, and they blur out the head sculpts while they await approval or while they're still being worked on.

I HATTTTEEEE that he has Tony Stark glasses now, hopefully they aren't something he uses a lot, but it worries me that they really are gonna do what people joked about and make him Iron Man Jr....

Glad I got the Scarlet Spider suit, that’s the only one I want so far.
Can anyone tell me why Hot Toys can only make Spidey figures from the movies/ video game instead of comic-based Spideys? |

They don't have a license for comic based figures. I believe that falls to Sideshow.

I do see they had a ghost rider, a ghost rider classic, and an upcoming punisher war machine, which I'm assuming are all comics based, but I could be wrong. As far as this fig, it looks good. Not sure if I wanna pick it up or not yet. I don't get why they are doing a new Tom Holland unmasked head. I thought the previous one was quite good. Maybe he gets a hair cut in this movie lol. And I do like that there is a spoilerific accessory! Makes me more excited for the movie to find out what it is! |

HT is able to get around the comic license by licensing stuff from the games that are based on the comics. But they really haven't taken advantage as much as they probably could. They have the Scarlet Spider from the PS4 game and the War Machine Punisher based on a mobile game lol.
They could be pumping out stuff non-stop I bet, but the Movie Masterpiece Line takes precedence above everything else to them I guess. |

I know they also are doing the spider-punk and tech suit from the ps4 game. I'd love for them to do both the classic and newer spidey-2099 costumes. Those are both for sure money makers you would think. Anything classic spidey-2099 seems to sell out instantly, and the new costume is pretty close to being just as popular among people.
I wonder if they could get a license to the marvel ultimate alliance games and do classic comic characters that way. |
