I saw that a few days ago. It doesn't bother me as much as I thought depending on how story goes. I wouldn't mind as a total joke aliens abducting turtles for testing and then just toss them in the sewer with a phone and Pizza Huts #. As long as they aren't an alien species, I'm ok with it.

I live in Canada...all we do is drink. I have learned to accept that getting your childhood raped is inevitable. However, I was never TMNT fan so it doesn't bother me.
My best ideas come when I am drinking too. But as I said, as long as the TMNT aren't an alien species, I am ok.

yup, that's exactly how i feel. i'll take the mutagen coming from space or some kinda alien experiment, but if they're aliens themselves then they shouldn't even be turtles at all. cuz if they turn out to be alien creatures that happen to look like turtles then that would seem a bit too forced to me.

This is exactly what he intends to do. Quote:
According to Stuff We Like, Bay was speaking at the 2012 Nickelodeon Upfront in New York last week when he said that the Turtles are really ... aliens! Don't believe it? Watch the video below to see for yourself.

My thoughts when i see Hollywood r whoever do things like this I get a little disappointed I want to just yell at them and say what's wrong with the original premise why do they have to tweak something that is what I would consider a classic story or a great idea look tmnt has been around since I was a kid and it still living on so WHY!!!! Change it... but I know why guys like M.Bay think they know it all and believe he has a new idea but!! You dont!!! And yes I'm a big TMNT fan and I won't watch "TANT" LOL that just sound dumb

It doesn't matter how bad this film will be, because people will still go to see it. It's a sad world we live in.

Honestly, people are putting way too much stock into what Bay is saying. He's not the writer, director or even directly involved with the production (no more so than he was with Nightmare on Elm St, Texas Chainsaw or I Am Number Four). His production company are the ones producing the flicks. His name will be attached to it in credits and that's about it. The movie is more than a year away, hasn't been cast, final script hasn't been approved and filming is still a long time off. And frankly, WB would be more at fault than any of them, since they have final say on how their property is handled.

Joking asside, regardless of who is writing this or directing this Bay has the kind of influence that would sway the final direction of the movie. Who the hell is going to argue with the guy who's last TF movie alone was over $700M globally in spite of the changes that were made to the franchise to bring them to the big screen? I'm not even saying the movie won't be good. I'm saying I don't like my Turtles non-mutant (and per subject title claiming he killed TMNT in the process). And when Bay says they're Aliens, now...why wouldn't I take his word for it? To me this would be like if someone decided to make a Thundercats movie...but decided it would be better if they looked like dogs. Don't worry though...they're still called Thundercats. Hopefully the aliens will at least still look like turtles. Hey maybe they are aliens with Skrulls powers but they only take the form of the first creature they come in contact with? I might be a bit more receptive if it was put in those type of terms. Hmmm now its got me thinking.

Personally Michael bay try making a movie where you develop and create original subjet matter, rather then rape and pillage nostalgia filled works such as transformers and now TMNT. I grew up on TMNT and the alien thing doesn't bother me 2 much as it could be the robot turtle giving life to the turtles, but if they're having 1 on 1 combat with aliens then I'll boycott it and any merch related. They should of used the same look as the 3 main movies but made it darker and grittier like tmnt 1 meets the Dark Knight.

I can't help but remember when the first TF movie was coming out, months before really anything was finalized, and I was talking to Tom Desanto (producer on the flick). He was telling me how faithful the movie was going to be to the source material and such (Tom is a G1 guy through and through). But, when Paramount really got their nails into it, and the creative team got put in place, his "vision" was basically thrown out the window, Orci and Kurtzman were brought in to rewrite the script and everything changed.
Until they say that the script is final, they're shooting now, anything said now could change numerous times. I'm not going to worry until that point. Thing is, its not even the story i worry about so much as the classification of what they are and what they've always been. The story will never be worse than the already made 3rd TMNT movie where they went back in time to ancient Japan, IMO lol. Bring back Ernie Reyes JR! Lmao

You're all missing a key point:
Teenage-they can be 13-19 years old. Mutant-nope Ninja- no. martial arts maybe, bus not ninjitsu Turtles-no he says directly they will be an alien race. So what do we have left a T & A flick...with explosions. |
