Doesn't even seem the suit is fabric at all looks like it's rubber. Also the face sculpts looks bad doesn't actually translate well or look like Mark Hamill. Would've been great to see the photo real tech on this but I guess doing it on an 8 inch figure wouldn't work as well as a 6 inch star wars black figure.

Yeah. I saw it last night on Instagram and thought the same. It's an odd choice if they do that. It'll basically defeat the purpose of this line since it states "Cloth" in the description. So it seems half-assed if this whole figure is rubber plus, how well will this figure hold up over time? The Darth Vader body was extremely stiff so will this be the same? And if it is then would have fear of it cracking over time.

You know, I shot this at toy fair and was so rushed I didn't even process that fact. It does seem to be rubberish.
https://news.toyark.com/2020/02/22/t...ar-wars-381260 I am actually not against that now that I'm thinking about it. I don't think soft goods work in most cases, they look poofy and doll-ish unless hyper paid attention to. However, I did think these HyperReal figures were intended to use them and be a Hot Toys alike situation. Guess not. This further sets this line apart, it's just out there on it's own in terms of scale and methods. |

Man, I just don’t know about this one. I was really hyped for this line and really love the Vader figure. The molded rubber suit/body works great for Vader’s outfit. However, doing the same thing for Luke in this outfit is just wrong. He needs to have cloth pants and shirt. Unfortunately it doesn’t look like that is the case. Also, like others have said the face is off as well. To me it looks like a mash up of trying to do a realistic face and an animated face. I hope this doesn’t turn out to be true, but Vader might be the only figure I own from this line.

Thought this line was dead in the water since it was announced. Would have been better if they did a line closer to mezco one:12 collective figures.

This rubbery nonsense doesn’t do much for me, from all I’ve read Vader was executed poorly—very stiff, hard to move, possible to break the internal armature... and ngl 8” is not a scale I’m interested in building based on just a couple offerings.
Luke’s face does look like a caricature also, something is off. |

I didn't follow this line very closely so I didn’t know that they would stuff Luke in a latex suit either. Seeing that Vader has a soft goods robe and cape, it doesn’t seem too outlandish to think they would give Luke an actual cloth outfit.
Rubber is a really weird looking choice, and will probably fair even worse in hand. |

I picked up Vader for less than retail and really like it aside from the soft goods being too big (something Hasbro can't seem to get right at any scale). He is sturdy and holds a pose well. No sign of stickiness or rubber degradation, but time will tell.
I don't have much interest in Luke unless I can get it for $30. I think this line works best for things like Stormtroopers, Clonetroopers & Manadalorians where they can execute it the same as Vader. Or maybe even Jedi where the tunics and cloaks are cloth. |

I have Vader, and I dig it a lot. It's a solid piece. Is it $80 solid? Eh...that's debatable, but I don't regret my purchase. Although for $80 something like a light-up base would've been nice.
Based on these new pics, Luke is a bit disappointing. Like others, I was under the impression the outfit would be some sort of malleable cloth/soft goods. I don't know why I thought that, but I did. Hopefully the rubbery suit looks better in-hand. The extra head/hands are a nice touch, though. I agree that if this line continues, it might be better suited for troopers, Mandalorians, and other masked/armored characters. Last edited by tierneygreen; 04-08-2020 at 04:14 PM.. |

What are the difference between the 2 expressions? Looks like one eye brow is raised a little higher, that's it.

I got the HyperReal Vader on sale for $55.
I loves it. I'm definitely getting Luke when he goes on sale the first time. I think the face is a good likeness. |

It looks a lot better in the Toy Fair pictures. Seems more apparent there that they're using the photo real painting on the faces.
As for the rubber costume, I actually really like it. Real fabric would never sit properly on a figure that size. This gives it properly scaled wrinkles, stitching and texture. My concern is how durable it is for extreme poses, and how long the rubber will live for before it starts to crack and deteriorate. |

Anyone know if this is the last one? I have heard it may end here with Luke. If anyone has any insight that would be great. I am happy Luke is a bit smaller (closer to 7 inch). I just was hoping for a Boba after. Any insight would be awesome!

No one has any clue as to whether the line will go on from here, everything is speculation. Hasbro won't say a line is dead before a figure is released in case it dampers sales.
