So far I have been regretting not buying a Cybertron Soundwave. I thought to myself "Meh, he doesn't even turn into a stereo, I'll pass". Then my brother showed me a video of a made up Stereo form and I was all "OMG!!!!" So now I am looking up and down for this guy, and can only find MEGATRON. I'm really kicking myself in the ass on this one.

Just before I started buying figs again (starting with the IM comic line), I had found a silver Warpath and color Vision while looking for models at Toys R Us.
I thought to myself "Vision was always one of my favorites...but even if I just collect the Avengers, it'll get expensive..." So I put them back. The store had four or five of each that day too...a month or so later I started collecting and it took me over a year to find a Vision (the cooler Translucent version though!). Just recently got the red and blue Warpath. Still wish I'd scored that color Vision though!! Ultimate Trade fodder! |

The only ones that I regret not buying are X-Force Warpath and Flame-On Human Torch. When I initially started collecting, I told myself I would only be buying things from this line that were late 90s and earlier. Unfortunately for me, that all changed. Fortunately for me, I bought the coloured Vision since it was old school. Acquired Flame-On Torch in a trade but I'm still waiting for X-Force Warpath to pop up at a decent price or someone willing to trade. It's the only figure I still need besides the Dr. Strange wave.

Saw the Iron Man II racetrack battle set with the bonus Navy drone at Target. Oodles of em.
"Eh, I'll wait for them to release the drones separately." Cue 'wa wa waaaa' trumpet sound. |

Back in '86 I was visiting family and a couple of my aunts took me to TRU and they had a Flagg there, the first I had seen in the wild. They saw I wanted it and got it for me (despite me telling them there was nowhere I could put it but at the time I didn't know there was a war going on between my mom and her sisters on who could get the most annoying toy for their nephews and I guess a 7' aircraft carrier fit the bill) But after getting it back and going through the parts I found that it was missing several smaller parts. we took it back for an exchange but that was the only Flagg that store had and after they checked with other stores none in the district was carrying it. So, I had the Flagg for something like, 3 days and then lost it and I haven't been able to afford a replacement since.

20.00 for the Stealth Armor variant Wave 1 Marvel Legends figure at a local hobby store. Years and years ago.
"Mmm...kinda pricey...maybe later.." Pfft. I eventually ended up getting one a few years back, but not for 20.00 |

This is the part where I rub salt in that wound. I bought all four of my sets for 9.99 a piece. They weren't in the computer the day they were put on the shelf and the cashier asked me how much they were. |

Bandai's SD VF-25F. Can't believe I never ordered it. Now it goes for ridiculous prices online.

So for awhile, the TRU near me has had the reissue of the classic Turtle Van from the 90s. I've always wanted it as a kid, and since I saw it on TRU, I was always in the mind set of, "ehhh I'll get it later". You can pretty much guess where this going. Made a trip up there recently and they're gone, so is the mylar.

Like the chairman of the board sang, Regrets I've had a few...., Here's 2 tales for the price of one. First story, I was 11 years old and obsessed with the Super Powers Collection. I had called a local discount toy store and asked if they had said collection and began to name my favorite Justice Leaguers I was in dire need of. The employee said yes we have those. I grabbed my allowance money begged my dad to take me to this store. Once I got there, much to my dismay standing were pristine window boxed Megos of Superman, Wonder Wonder Woman, Robin and Batman plus so much more all there for $1.99 a piece. I drooped my head down and walked out of the store disappointed that they didn't have what I asked for. Now my 40 years old self is still face palming over that missed opportunity.
Second story, I was 14 years old and just started seriously collecting comic books. I went to a small convention and there at a table was Batman issues # 1 - # 100 near mint priced at $50.00 each. You see the older gentleman who was selling these books was stricken with cancer and desperately needed the money for treatment. Even though I was inexperienced at collecting I knew this was a treasure trove of golden age books. I can't tell how much I was on my dad's back to buy just one of these books. After an hour of showing my dad what these books were worth in Overstreet's we went back to the table only to see the dealer that was at the table across from that gentleman boxing up the books and taking them away.

I made it a policy to keep receipts. That way I can buy stuff off the shelf and hold it a while at home to decide if its a keeper without losing out later.
Examples: 1. Saw Digivolving Black Wargremon on a shelf. Was like, digimon is kinda kiddy, but this mold looks pretty cool, the Agumon looks like an Agumon, and its pretty steel in black.....nah, pass. Later reconsidered, came back, gone. $10 on the shelf at TRU, $50 years later on ebay. 2. E-hobby Sunstorm/Green Inferno *whatever his name is* combo. Had ordered from E-hobby back in the day when they accepted foreign orders. It was like $45 for the set of two plus shipping, was kinda poor back then. Nah...2 months later, Sunstorm is selling for like over 2 bills on ebay by himself. 3. Was in elementary school in the late 80's, prob fourth grade. Had a kiddie swap meet where the students donated toys and the proceeds went....i have no idea, probably into the faculty booze fund. But, I was helping set up and got to look at the stuff/buy before it opened. Found a G1 Soundwave w/barrel priced at $5-10. Was like, idk if he's complete. Pass. Bought incomplete seacons instead. STUPID! ...the only consolation i have is buying Jafcon Shining Magnus and Diaclone Magnus for like $60 each from a local collectable store. Them were the days when Takara was just starting to do reissues. missed the ship on the ghost/black starscream and crystal/black hot rod combos tho. saw the retail prices, was it like $40 US or less for each set of 2. sickening now. I've had this feeling a BUNCH of times. I will probably post more later on once I remember more.
Off the top of my head, my big regrets were passing on the Gundam Arch Enemies Wing Zero Custom and Tallgeese III...I only saw the latter ONCE and these were the very best Gundam figures made by Bandai America. ABS plastic was used...at a time when PVC was the dominant material in Gundam action figures. Also the figures were in 1/100 scale and the most detailed Gundam figures available domestically. Lots of Marvel Legends and other Toy Biz 6" figures I regret passing on. Also regret passing on Jazwares Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks Reptile and Smoke. Also the short lived 8" Knights Of The Zodiac figures by Bandai America. I remember passing on those "Gundam Arch Enemies". Wasnt into Wing at the time...still not actually...but yeah, the Tallgeese was a great sculpt. Passed on both. Not really kicking myself, but I would buy now. They also had the original gundam from universal century and Char's pink Gouf in that series. Was more into G-Gundam figures. Really glad I picked up the boxed Devil Gundam as well as the Grand/Raven/Walter Gundams, those things are hella expensive now |

I saw a Snow Cat MIB at the Joecon a couple of years ago and asked How much it was. The vendor replied 30 bucks, I turned to my wife to get my wallet instead of grabbing the damn thing and some one next to me scooped it up.

I seen 2 stretch strike venom figures for $12.99 each at 1 of my local comic shops and was like damn! but didn't have the $$ went back and found only 1, bought him, but was hoping to get the other to help another arker out. I emailed the owner to see if he put 1 aside for me or not, if not hopefully he orders more in. Does anybody need a regular redskull or crossbones I can find a bunch of them loose, I'm half debating about picking some up to keep MOC, anybody else thinking that? I got the basic wave redskull and crossbones loose but a moc sounds nice 2. I have recently though found some dream auctions on ebay such as a 12 MI figure lot for less then $200, a large 10-11 figure Hellboy lot for $30... ebay is the worse site to view when you're broke,.. torture seeing amazing toys go for cheap, it's worse to me then retail lose, as I don't have a car so my hunting is more limited then some.

I was looking for this thread as it seemed to be something that would have been created, but maybe I just suck at finding them, and if so, sorry for recreating and do merge.
But I think this is a fun topic. I've passed on loads of stuff that I've heard people cry about that they want or that I've later cried about that I wanted. So post the things you regret passing on! Just a few of my large list includes.. Those loads of Giant Man and Skrull Giant Man boxsets that I kept passing on.. All the Marvel Legends when I was younger.. period. |

The original Blade figures from back when the first movie was released, along with that old school line of Resident Evil figures that came out. There was one in particular of a STARS member from the balcony of the mansion in the first game, I always wanted that one but it alluded me. When you grow up and can find these things, they're already too expensive.
*edit* I just realized this was posted in the Marvel section, damnit. Last edited by DogFashionDisco; 09-21-2011 at 06:24 AM.. Reason: I didn't notice this was a Marvel thread |

I don't mean giving them away, I mean stuff you didn't pick up to begin with, that you now wish you would have. :P
