Where to start?
A few years back, I posted fairly regularly on TFW2005 as Autobot Dave. I was a huge Masterpiece Transformers fan, and really dug taking pics of them. When the aesthetic changed to be more cartoon accurate, I didn't like them as much, and decided it was too expensive a hobby to not be over the moon with each figure. So I sold them all but MP-1. I also took a lot of pics of the Modern Era G.I. Joe figures on JoeDios as DaveCW2, but shooting them hasn't been too exciting for the last few years. I used to have a ton of Marvel Legends and Star Wars figures. And I sold almost all of them. Fast forward to now, and frankly, I need a hobby - an escape. My business has me swamped and I need a creative outlet. That means it's time to get back into collecting and shooting, while trying my best to be a bit more discerning about what I let into the collection. And there's where it's always been tough for yours truly I'll likely be hanging out in the Marvel Forums, as the Marvel Legends since 2015 have me pretty excited. Though I still have some G.I. Joes and Marvel Universe figs, and will be picking up the odd figure here and there. Since my return to collecting, I picked up the Marvel Legends Jim Lee versions of Cyclops and Rogue - thank you Amazon gift card - a Vintage Series ML Wolverine, and a Black Series Han Solo, Harrison Ford / New Hope-style. And I already had a Juggernaut Wave ML Wolverine. Because I pre-ordered a case of the new ML X-Men wave, which means I'm clearly sticking to the whole "discerning" thing, and will be picking up the Juggernaut wave Deadpool at some point soon. Longest intro ever, I know, but I have a pretty long toy-collecting / photographing history. And I can't wait to get back into it! Have fun, all! |
