Got this guy for around $20ish with my discount and a Fisher Price coupon.
Figure: He comes with armored shoulder gear like the rest that even looks like Krulos's dome headed thing he had. The harness on mine does have a slightly bent belt piece. Sadly he has no hammer or volcanium chunk. |

Dino Tech Gear:
The T-rex has alot going on. The electronic gimmick makes the claws on the harness move around as if they are really being jerked around, the clips are painted orange instead of gray like on the images nothing paint can't fix. It stays secured by 2 small tabs that clip into the back ridge, these are especially familiar to any one my age that loved Dino-Riders, the claws are very flexiable and have a full range of motion. He also has a large control section that hooks onto 2 small dents in the hips, it has a control post for 1 figure to stand on, but sadly no control post like Krulos's ride it has 2 orange "gun" looking attachments that don't rotate. The foot pedestal opens the pod and it has a detailed interior and handles the figure fits in with and without the headgear on the figure, the middle section turns 360 degrees but with the sideguns on the hips it makes it pointless past a certain point. Not mentioned on the package the 2 purple side guns that plug into the hip stations are manned gunner stations that figures can man reminds me of the side guns on the old T-Rex I wish they had detailed controls. There are 2 orange missiles that fire by small orange buttons, the shoot prety far, and sometimes by themselves one looks like a grappling hook and one looks like blaster barrels. I display mine slightly out to prevent me from having to dig around the floor for them. His brainbox is huge it has horns and big red lenses to cover the eyes it fits on by 2 little tabs as well, stays on great even with the electronic movements. Dino:
This guy is huge, I wish he was the darker brown on the package, but he is almost an orange. He has the assymetrical eyes on is open wide one is tightly squinted he looks menacing but cute at the same time. The electronic gimmick is triggered by a darker brown scale on the tale it would have been neat to have them all the darker brown to blend in. He also has the pebbled skin and sculpted scales. The gimmick has an on/off switch on the foot, the battery compartment is also there and the speaker is on the crotch, the gimmick makes the upper body and head circle and the head open and close, to pose the dino you kind of have to pose the legs and gear then hit the button until you get a good pose. The gimmick is nice but I wish the mouth and arms were still poseable and not locked into the electronic gimmick's mechanics. The tail tip has a tiny little articulated end part, it would be neat to have more joints, but the balance would probably have been effected with drastic posing. |

Gured' Up:
I love this guy he is big and imposing he looks great with his 2 escorts and I may get a third. I wish he would have came with 3 more men to man all the stations. Also for the full price he should have some more extras extra men, volcanium or weapons. Hopefully, these guys get more figures added to this line, there is also a DVD included that I though had an hour long cartoon, but it's a short about them fighting over volcanium and doesn't even show the 2 smaller sets. It doesn't show the dino bases either the logo on their equipment looks like an Iguanadon, so hopefully this alludes to future toys. It's odd that they made 3-d models for the little short on this disk. At the end of the short it did have an image at the end of a snapshot that said I survived the dino rider. I did find out that Mattel does indeed own Tyco RC which was part of Tyco that originally made Dino-Riders quite a coincidence. Now I only have to review the Pterodactyl I have he's not so great and get the Triceratops to review. |

Seriously just reissue or re imagine some god damn dino riders already. Mattel should own the license based on acquiring tyco. FFFFFFFFFFF Dino Riders were the best toyline ever.

As long as they don't give Raptor feathers, that would be my only concern even if it is "correct"
A 4 inch Joe size detailed like the 30th and POC would be fantastic as long as it had a cartoon to power it. Re-issues would be neat but, I'd rather see what they could do now. |

I love this toy since I too have one. I am amazed at the sheer size of this t-rex. I just wish the missile launchers slid outwards more because they are too close to the driver's control center.

This is the only one that I don't think I want.
So, are we paying for the electronics? I don't like the electronics features. Every time I pass a display, it starts making sounds, and that just drives me insane...although, now that I think of it, maybe it would be fun to torture the cats with it. Worth it?
