Maybe it is just me but I think this is really dumb. I mean, of all the things they could have done and all the things that people ask for out of this line they do James Cameron?

Pretty creative. I must say I never really desired a James Cameron action figure on my desk, but I'm digging this a lot. Now to find a 7 inch scale director's chair and some film cameras to go with that clap board.

This is fun! Director's like Tarantino, George Lucas, and Peter Jackson have done something similiar, so I applaud their enthusiasm.
Also, NECA has contacted many actors who have portrayed characters in Alien and Predator movies. NECA can't just steal their likeness. If these folks don't message NECA back, it's not their fault. Many movies like Jaws, Back to the Future, Mad Max, etc. have no likeness rights to the actors. |

I totally could see how some people would want this, but I sure don't. It would make a great base for customs, however. Good 80's Cameron likeness, too.
I love how the release states that, "This is the first time Cameron has allowed his likeness to be used for an action figure." Like people have been screaming for a freaking James Cameron action figure for years (maybe they have? I don't know). |

How about finishing up the actual movie characters before they make a lame thing like this?

Can't see the appeal of another Colonial Marine, but with a Cameron head sculpt? Kinda interesting, but an easy pass.

I like this. Way to keep the license alive while they're trying to secure the rights to more actor's likeness.
I wonder if he'll have a rank? Or is he just a grunt? |

I think this is a neat figure, and a good way to flesh out the marines, while trying to secure more likeness rights, I'm sure. Can't really complain about them releasing this before others, if they don't have the rights. I'll take a non-essential figure over no figure any day. |

Thats what I'm trying to figure out. Don't see any kind of rank insignia but-keeping in mind he's notorious for being a bit of a tyrant on set-cant see him as a lowly grunt taking orders lol

Disappointed that we aren't getting a new marine from the movie, but it's not a terrible looking figure so I'm torn. Likeness is solid, and I like the accessories they chose. I do wish he had a helmet, but the hair probably wouldn't allow one to fit.

That said, what other marines would anyone want aside from Drake and Apone...and maybe Dietrich would be cool too because at least she had some lines and wasn't the first to get killed (although the first marine to get killed - Frost - was actually HER fault, lol)? I mean, I doubt NECA is going to make a figure out of some loser like Spunkmyer. |

I find this original and totally unexpected. Just for custom possibilities this figure is worth buying.
I'm curious to know if he'll be having a King of the World grafitti on his armor

There is a helmet in the new Sentry Turret accessory set coming out you could use on him. It might be to small but the Diamond Select Kermet Muppet figure came with a directors chair.

Actually, didn't Cameron allow the actors in the movie to customize their own armor? If so, I wouldn't be surprised if Cameron himself had a hand in designing this figure's duds. Last edited by Dolemite; 07-17-2017 at 11:57 AM.. |

They had to pay for those likeness rights. Just as they did for Weller's Alex Murphy likeness. and they apparently were not cheap.

Colonel. That's awesome! NECA's shipping charge still sucks, but I have to order one to make sure I don't miss out. My local TRU's distribution is wonky.
