I like them the only gripe I have right now is they dont seem to be able to HOLD ANYTHING
their hands should be able to hold swords and stuff will these be on sale in brick and mortar stores or only online? |

The robots looks good, the ninjas look very cheap, especially the faces. I HATE that they went with the MK3 outfits for the ninjas. I was really hoping for the MK2 look.

These look sick, my favorite character is Secktor and he is a fucking definate pick up! both in 3 3/4'' and 6'' scale the ninja's look ok but kinda cheap like mentioned, if they come with extra hands and accessories would make me think otherwise.

the ninja's look like they were sculpted out of some playdoh like substance....and not in a good way.

I have to admit, I was really eager to see this line but they litterally just two took base molds and repainted them. The ninjas use the same mold and the robots do.
Maybe I'll buy them in the store |

I'll wait a few years til either the 4Horsemen or the designers of the Final Fantasy MLXXXVII figures get hired to design the figures. These look worse than Mario Bros toys.

Yeah, but that is no different than the actual MK games. Sub-Zero, Scorpion and Reptile started that tradition in MK1 with simple palette swaps. Then, as the games went on they just added more and more ninjas, and robots. I don't mind the straight up repaints. I mind the crappy sculpting, at least on the ninjas. The robot assassins at least have more detail.

?! I like the Mario Bros. toys. Sure, they don't have much articulation, but they look exactly like their videogame counterparts.

The cyborgs look alright but the ninjas are just meh. I really hope the final product of both the 4" and 6" figures for the ninjas look better cause the protos are just meh.
Also anyone notice that the vents on the masks of the 4" figures look uneven? Last edited by TheSerpentKing; 06-29-2011 at 11:57 PM.. |

Jeez...these MK figures have been beyond disappointment. Are we all certain that we share the same love for action figures here? Cuz I'm not aware of what's so "sick" about these...things.
The cyborgs are decent, but the other ninjas seem to lack any real effort in accurate sculpting. I'm pretty sure Jazwares has no intention of catering to the interests of the older audience - last time I checked, kids shouldn't be playing Mature-rated titles. Anyway, can't see them failing that bad on a Cyber Sub-Zero, so I'll be awaiting his unveilling |

Wow UI've always wanted to nab these characters in figure form since we've only had the old 6 inch ones that were really advanced for the time & the other ones which don't fit with the modern figure lines so I'm digging these

Looking at the pics available I'm thinking 4' but I could be wrong.
Some guy on the Jazwares Facebook page said 6' but when I asked where he found this out, he said he didn't know. So I'm taking what he said w/a grain of salt. I'm REALLY hoping it 4' though. It's my preferred scale. |

Past experience has shown that I'm going to risk getting drawn and quartered for saying this, but I'm not going to buy and my reason for this is because there's already a risk that we won't be getting anything beyond these ninjas and cyborgs based on Primacron's post that Rayden had been cancelled. I'll just wait on these a while and if we get more than these guys, I'll consider buying.
To be honest, I ONLY really care about the MK1 through MK2 guys. Everything in the way of design beyond MK2 never really appealed to me. I remember I was around 11 or so when MK3 came out and me and my friend were like "Um... these costumes look really sleazy and even a little uh... weird.", that's why I loved the Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks action RPG and Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe. They used the Mortal Kombat II roster. As long as they have Liu Kang, Kano, Johnny Cage, Sonya Blade, Rayden, Sub Zero, Scorpion and Reptile from MK1, I'll be happy. *IF* they have Goro and both MK1 and MK2 versions of Shang Tsung, I'll be even happier! *IF* they have Kitana, Mileena, Jade, Noob, Smoke, Baraka, Kung Lao, Jax. Top it off with Kintaro and Shao Khan *delighted*. What I'm worried about is that these figures won't do so hot and they'll stop at the ninjas and cyborgs... The roster is vast and I think they'd be safer (and make a lot of people happier) if they just released the main guys of MK1 first. It's 9 guys and one oversized. See how that pans out instead of getting us to shell out for a bunch of ninjas and cyborgs and then offer us nothing else if this tanks. NECA is lucky that their TMNT figures were absolutely badass that I can live with not having gotten the Shredder and foot ninjas that were promised but I would imagine that the appeal of these MK ninjas will not have the same effect on me and Jazwares would be losing my business for good. LOL. I know a lot of people want "variety" and wouldn't mind seeing a Li Mei, Fujin or Shinnok in there, but bare in mind that this could be at the cost of Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Sonya Blade, etc. I couldn't care less about El Fuerte or Seth. As far as I'm concerned, that could've been M. Bison and Vega in there or even Fei Long or Cammy. Give me Streetfighter before it became the game where Asian kids castrated you every round with some ridiculous 300hit hyper super combo over XBox Live. I like to think that we as buyers also have rights in that when we buy into a line, we're making an investment and I always want a return on my investment whether it's money or the satisfaction of a "complete" collection. While I respect that some of us are happy equally satisfied with an incomplete line, I'm not that kind of collector. Jazwares is going to have to give us some guarantees before they start getting my money. If they aren't going to "finish" the Mortal Kombat line (pun intended), let us know because I don't want to be tricked into needlessly spending my money on a bunch of ninjas that'll no doubt be weirdly disproportionate to my MU collection. Don't pull a NECA and release something and then pull out of Wave 2. Seriously, Jazwares is scaring me with this MK and SF shit. If we don't see prototypes of Chun Li, Dhalsim, Edmund Honda soon, SF won't see any of my money, either. And I don't need to be told how my money doesn't matter to Jazwares. I'm guessing for a small company, one or two GOOD customers does make a big difference and I'm a GOOD customer. I don't cherry pick my Marvel and DC. I have every figure from MU since day 1 except the Archangel Mail-Away and every DC Infinite Heroes figure except the black Mary Batson and the final 3 pack with Flash, Heat Wave and Trickster. If Jazwares can guarantee a collector like me the roster of MK1, that would be enough for me to buy. If Jazwares guaranteed the 8 world warriors and the 4 boss characters from Streetfighter II, they will have my money..... so long as the figures don't suck crap, that is. LOL. There's that, too. |

I guess Jazwares plan is to use the ninjas as way of making money, and then hopefully reinvesting it to produce the other unique characters. Interesting point about NECA Shredder, I remember seeing the pre-order but wondered why I couldn't find him on eBay recently. I find it strange that NECA plan to produce some of the more obscure Gremlins characters (flashing Gremlin anyone?) but couldn't produce Shredder.

Yep - I'm completely with you on this, the least I want is the cast of MKI (don't forget Reptile!), I'd also like the cast of MKII and I'd pick up the cast of MK3, but strictly in that order of preference. If I could only get 7 characters, it would be the original playable characters.

Yeah, I don't know what the heck happened to the Shredder figure. Hell, even the Playmates release of the original line was dropped after wave 1 and the Party Wagon. I guess Turtle Power is dead. *slow version of original TMNT theme plays on a classical piano* Cowa-bye-bye, my dear shell-backed angels, save a slice of chocolate marshmallow pizza for me in turtle-heaven, Mikey. :'( Last edited by thechris; 08-25-2011 at 04:59 AM.. |

By the way, this goes to show that a little shading goes a long way. I remember once seeing on Youtube, some guy had a review who was griping about figures being painted with a wash and highlights and said "let the plastic do the shading" or something like that. Well here it is, buddy. This is what it looks like. Want another example? The Jim Lee Cyclops' gloves, boots, belt and bascially anything else that's yellow on him in pure yellow plastic. It looks cheap. Yeah, the figure is nice, but it has it's flaws. Part of the reason I think the ninjas look kind of cheap is that the flesh hasn't been given any sort of wash or highlight.

Yeah and I'm sure there's the one guy who will "pwomise" to buy the obscure Frost or Tanya figure if they make her instead of Johnny Cage and never does, but I could give a crap about *YOU* OR your lewd fantasies, you little shrimp. Oh yeah, you know who you are. This is personal now!
