Okay, so these aren't the bestest looking SF figures ever. Their joints are very visible, the faces on some are predictably derpy and assuming the accessories are molded on, Guile's gonna be fighting with a comb while Fuerte's gonna fight with a frying pan.
That said, they ARE 4" figures. And there does seem to be a sense of scale. Sagat seems to be extra tall while Fuerte is a tad smaller. Articulation seems okay. They have that swivel hinge style hips that don't look too good but are otherwise very good in terms of practicality (or at least I hope they're using those hips). Sagat seems to look the best. Personally, I'll probably get them all, but I'm a crazy spendy person like that. I know I'm being easy on them, but hey, I knew they weren't going to be Hasbro G.I. Joe/Marvel Movies level. I'm just glad they're vaguely almost acceptable, as opposed to completely horrible. Images taken down per request by Jazwares Last edited by Shin Densetsu; 08-24-2011 at 09:19 AM.. |

I don't think the accessories are molded in - well at least for Fuerte. His hands look like he can hold the frying pan in either one. Guile, I'm not so sure about.
Also, I really question the decision to start mimicing Win animations before a "normal" version is made. Save Guile's "Comb my hair" version for a remold down the line, not Wave 1. Because my guess is that Guile's left hand is going to look really doofy in any other pose. Sagat does look really good. But I really need to see these in person first.

Excellent thread! Thanks for posting this. I had no idea about these. They are no figuarts but then again they are 4" scale and might fit in with the MU and Joeverse.
I agree on the win poses, Guile's hand looks pretty dumb stuck like that. It'd be nice if it came with a separate set of hands but thats asking for too much. Are these going to be retail releases?

im not really one for knocking toys. but i have to say these looks really cheaply made. like some chinese knock-offs you will find in a corner shop or something.
sagat doesnt look too bad but the rest fill me with dread. are these really jazzwares??? because it doesnt say jazzwares anywhere that i can see on the card and they really do look like they have used 1980's figure technology on these.

Pretty much my feelings towards these too. They couldn't even paint the joints? Cmon.

Sweet! I've been waiting to see how these were going to look. I wasn't too thrilled with their MK figures. But I think I can get down with these, but it's a shame that Ryu and Ken are the worst looking ones.

I think these are still not totally complete, as far as the paint. I've never seen Jazzwares produce figures without painting the joints and I'd hope they wouldn't start with SF.

After thinking it over some more, it's entirely possible that these pics could simply be packaging mock-ups using prototypes and not the final product versions.
As far as I know, they'll be sold at retail just like the MK figures. Their logo is in the bottom right of the packaging. It's the blue & white stylized "J".

well ken and ryu have the award for least appealing head sculpt for a figure under 4". also there chests need to be redone, they look like they had a mastectomy. the other figures aren't that bad but aren't amazing either. i might get a set just to redo some of the sculpts.

I've been waiting for pics on these. I'll probably pick up some of these to go along with other 3.75 figs. Just a tad bit out of scale though. I really going for a marvel vs capcom display. They might match up more in scale with mortal kombat. Ooo mk vs sf here we go.
The 6" ones look better though. what is the release date? Bbts says 3rd quarter. Last edited by Symbiote; 08-24-2011 at 07:58 AM.. |

You're probably right... I hope you are. I'd really like to get the Ken vs. Blanka set, so hopefully they'll look a little better in person.

I have to say... horah for Street Fighter...
BUT... Jazzware really is letting us down with these figures. I think it's quite hard to live up to since so many other companies have SF license under their belts. Square-Enix is releasing some larger figures and NECA has already released some 8" figures, Takara had Microman, and Medicom had a 12" Chun-li, Not to mention Capcom Vs. SNK figure line. These will again be put down in the books as a failed attempt.

'Bout time they released photos of these. If they come out in Quebec, I'm buying them all. Screw the haters. (not that these look particularly stunning, mind you)

Was waiting to see these, always wanted a Blanka on that scale, but definitely they don´t look appealing at all.
Well, sorry but jazzwares has not been precisely good on sculpting figures through time (remember the trigun ones?). |

Those are also a much bigger scale. If it bothers you that much, cry more and hunt them down on the secondary market.

I also doubt that these are the finals for the figures because the "not approved by licensor" MK images had joints that were painted and I don't think JaZwares (yes only 1 Z) would put out these images as finals for what is probably their biggest license to date. Ppl cry foul when pics like this are released or leaked but making toys are hard and in this day and age where you have computer technology to help make toys, you should be glad to have what you can get. Growing up in the 80's, EVERYTHING was hand sculpted and some of it was rather derpy, especially compared to what's available today. Jazwares is a small company compared to Hasbro and Mattel, or even McFarlane, but give credit where credit is due, these figures aren't so bad. Look at the A-Team figures, not bad, especially compared to what SpinMasters put out for Tron: Legacy. The sculpting was SO bad that the actor who was Castor didn't even give approval for his likeness on the figure. I for one will buy these and the MK figures because no matter what haters say, it's better than what we got from Hasbro in the past. __________________________________________________ __ Edit: Ok in the time that I was writing this, Jazwares asked that the images be taken down. If this isn't a sign that those figures ARE NOT final versions, I don't know. Jazwares, if you're reading this, good start, tweak them a bit and you'll do alright. "Images taken down per request by Jazwares" - prototype images? I think them asking to have the pictures taken off is confirmation enough.
Whether you think they look like crap or are promising then post your opinions. No reason to bash what anyone else thinks. Personally, they look promising to me and ill wait to see them in stores before I make a decision.
