Hot on the tail of Hasbro's showing of the JEM display at NYCC, a trademark renewal/extention for "entertainment services, namely, media production services for motion pictures, television and Internet" for "JEM AND THE HOLOGRAMS" is created on October 12, 2011. This renewal states that "an on-going animated television series in the field of children's entertainment" is the stated intent.
This could mean that Hasbro simply wants to continue using the Hub's site to advertise the airing of Jem, as the document provided with the extension is a screenshot of the JEM page on the Hub's site. With the presence of NYCC, this could mean more. Also, Jemcon.org member alexcabot3 reports that a friend who is attending NYCC was able to speak to a Hasbro representative: Quote:

The line will be back, and maybe they will still have something for us at Christmas to get us geared up for the new line(?). He also asked the rep about an exclusive JEM toy. The rep said they will try for SDCC 2012 as well.

Seems about right. Jem and Micronauts should be the next pairing for certain. Jem to bolster the girls side, and micronauts for the boys because of the upcoming micronauts movie and potential rumored toon.
With Unit E, it looks like MASK, Candyland, action man, a new Stretch Armstrong as a superhero, even Battleship and more are on the way. Which doesn't surprise me either. As the hub grows, so will the usage of their character licenses, and spinning to make many into new character licenses. But again, bring back Inhumanoids already! GI Renegades "The Cutting Edge" was such a tease at the possibilities it could have with a continuation series while the old re-runs! Jem is definitely on the way to becoming a new series though. That's their pattern typically as shown with TF and Joe. Rerun classic, then premiere new. A trend I hope they keep doing, and in many ways, they did the same for Batman. Adam West series first, then Beyond (future), now TAS(Present). So I think we can safely assume this will be the channel pattern. It's a smart one too. Gain the nostalgia, stir up the hype, then premiere new to rabid fans. |

Joe: Renegades and My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. This took place over a year and a half ago. Now, three out of the four brands are new shows. It would seem that the pattern is applying for an old brand name to create a new show. Hypothetically, the forth show "JEM" would also be an upcoming new show. |
