The Dark Knight - The Joker Statue by JND Studios

Am I the only one burned out on Ledger Joker? Why is there such a severe lack of Joaquim Phoenix Joker merch? No action figures from DCC, DST, NECA, Mafex, Mcfarlane, or Hot Toys despite the widespread praise for the portrayal and his Oscar win, yet we got plenty of Jared Leto figures in multiple scales, and after 12 years companies keep churning out Ledger figures/statues for those who aren't already tired of the obsession over him. Is it too much to ask for a 6-7" Phoenix Joker figure instead? Is there some kind of expensive likeness rights issue with him just like the one preventing us from getting a Jack Nicholson Joker 6" figure??

DC Collectibles no longer exists, DST doesn’t do DC action figures, NECA no longer has a DC license, Medicom is focused on DC Comics as opposed to live action right now. That leaves McFarlane and Hot Toys. McFarlane has shown no interest in DC live action films outside of Wonder Woman, and Hot Toys is years behind on DC live action.

It also seems Warner Bros. had no interest in licensing the movie when it initially came out. But after its success they probably had to. By that point, companies like McFarlane and Hot Toys already have their releases/reveals planned out for the next year.

I thought I read that Todd Phillips put the kibosh on merchandise for the film.

That’s likely. But those restrictions have been lifted somewhat as their are officially licensed statues coming from Prime 1, Queen Studios, and Iron Studios.

I get it and I'm sure some people are burned out but there are enough people who still love this iconic character and want everything to do with it. If I had 2K to burn, I'd definitely buy this.
