So true on the second link. WB has a lot of catching up too, considering they've been in the movie business a lot longer than Marvel has you would think they would be able to make a great DC movie...

But is she a good actress? One thing I can say about the avengers is that ever main character was a good actor/actress.

I have hope for this movie but I just dont see how they can make it work.. its gonna take alot more effort than what marvel did w/ the avengers.. DC heroes are harder to staple down then the marvel heroes..

I'm more concerned about the look of the characters right now. Henry Cavill could POTENTIALLY look like Superman, but they went and gave him that stupid throwback hair that, in my honest opinion, was a very poor design choice and the funny part is, if you tidy up Henry Cavill's regular short hairstyle plus a curl in the front would have been comic perfect. What people have got to realize is that the old Superman movies starring Christopher Reeve were pretty good for their time but it isn't THE Superman and therefore not every Superman movie made from this point on has to have some sort of homage to that movie. I realize that Cavill won't be in this film but I just hope whoever they cast is around the same build and could pass for a Superman. I dunno, I don't have big hopes for this movie. I can already see the blood churning grins of the Michael Bays and the pouty tortured artists like Bryan Singer want to spray their ego jizz all over this movie to make it their "big vision". They've made GREAT animated movies that appeal to all ages but with a definite mature nod. Why can't they just translate something like that to the big screen? Let the DCAU team put together a storyboard and work with that. The last thing I want is to see this movie made into the 300 of the Justice League in the spirit of the Watchmen. That movie was great but I just don't see Justice League as this gritty dreary commentary on the human stain with hillbilly banjo music playing in the background. |

If they put Kim Kardashian in a JLA movie, that'd be crazy. That'd be even stupider than one of the stupidest things I can even dream of. It'd be like having a big action movie with aliens and explosions and stuff and casting, I don't know, Rihanna as a major character.
Oh, wait. . .

I would seriously not even see the movie if Kim Kardashian was cast as Wonder Woman. I couldn't think of a worse choice. I think the person who plays her has to be at least 30 years old or at least look it. Even Liv Tyler would be a better choice than Kim Kardashian. And Ryan Reynolds already failed as Green Lantern. I think the characters need to be older or this is going to suck. I don't want to see a Superman who looks more like a Superboy and a Batman who looks like he just graduated from High School 4 years ago. And I certainly don't want this to be another origin story. DC origin stories suck. Green Lantern's entire movie was an origin story. At most, it would be nice if they already knew of each other and kind of just fell into a situation where they had to work together. Idealy, though, I would prefer they already worked together, had a base of operations, know each other. It's idiotic that Superman could possibly have never heard of Batman or the Flash. The only characters that I could forgive as new introductions would be Martian Manhunter beaming to Earth and giving the prof a heart attack which could be established in a quick simple segment at the start of the movie and also Wonder Woman leaving her island and Aquaman coming in to help. Batman, Superman, Flash, Green Lantern should ALL know each other and know of each other. I can see them replacing J'onn with Cyborg, though, which would actually piss me the hell off.

Martian Manhunter has been the glue of the Justice League for so long that if anything the movie should be from his perspective. I'd say have him show up on earth at the beginning with his origin then assume his detective job and fast forward until superheroes are standard. Then he starts meeting up with the big names who need no intro to come together to battle a common foe, preferably Despero who has planned to come to earth to rule. Insert copy/paste from Avengers
JK but I would like Despero and the rest of the stuff i mentioned |

I'm truly worried about a Justice League movie, especially if DC/WB wants it out soon enough to ride the waves created by the Avengers.
Marvel had 4 years of build-up to Avengers (starting with IM 1 and IH in 2008). And all those movies leading up to it were (arguably) good, stand-alone films. Well, maybe IM2 isn't exactly stand-alone, but you get the idea. Each cast member was well-chosen to fit the role and not necessarily because of their fame/stardom/notoriety. In order for a Justice League film to have the same success as Avengers, WB will need to use Man of Steel to begin laying the groundwork (maybe even reference the GL movie). Then have the Flash and second GL movies build on MoS's foundation. Then get a new Batman up and running (no way would Nolan's world fit in with GL, let alone Flash or Supes). WW and Martian Manhunter/Hawkman/Hawkgirl could all be introduced the same way that Black Widow and Hawkeye were done (e.g. without their own movies, but as cameos in other films). I'd also like to see the Legion of Doom or something similar as the JL villains, but that may be too many characters to juggle. Darkseid or Despero would probably work, though. I honestly think it could work, but it would require at least 4 years of build-up, same as Avengers did. Maybe more.

I agree its going to take alot of work.. but im thinking they are going to have to be a bit more darker than the avengers.. DC heroes are the purest in terms of superhero and they are going to have to face a threat where they can actually lose and make it believable.. I mean, a guy like superman and mix him up with batman, green lantern, and wonderwoman. They have so much firepower you are gonna have to smack something apocalyptic at them. (especially if in their own movies they face a world disaster every single time and fix it single handedly)

They should just make something like the current JL comic. Where GL meets BM then they meet Flash and so on. We could actually see it working with the current cast if it was done like that.
