This question goes out to the traders, sellers, swappers, flip and floppers who collect and trade toys. I had been given a 12'' DC Green Lantern Corps figure for xmas from my mom... it was a sweet toy, however I have been trying to focus on Marvel and hastily decided to trade him in at a local comic shop for a marvel select abomination and a bunch of comics. I recently as in today, got an email from a local collector interested in trading me a battle damaged in box Iron Man Hot Toys figure for it! I'm like FML @!rt@t!$@%#&*(*%) FUCK. So now I gotta call back the comic store and see what he'll charge me to buy it back as I already opened the abom figure and don't want to return the comics. I hope to fuck he has it and maybe will sell it to me for cheap. then possibly buy him some dc stuff inorder to make the deal fair. He told me he's trying to refocus his collection and wants to get rid of some figures.. not sure what else he has but GOD DAMMIT I wanted a hot toys Iron Man figure since I first saw Mark 1 pop up on Sideshowtoys.com. So has anybody else here sold a toy only to rebuy it back?/and or get a better offer later only to not be able to get it.

Yeah. 2 weeks ago I sold all my remaining Sota Street Fighter toys+ to my LCS. A day or so later a guy wanted 2 of them in trade for a MOTUC Panthor. I was like..."damn". Didn't go try and buy the 2 back though. I'll get Panthor eventually.

Somebody wants to trade a 12" Green Lantern Corp figure for a Hot Toys Iron Man? Am I missing something here? Buy another on eBay or look around on the forums for another if you can find one at a reasonable price.

Your not missing anything, I'm slightly in shock and awe that buddy is willing to trade me straight up for it, well close to it, he is wanting a bit extra either comics, $$ or me pick up some other dc stuff for him. I'd go online, but in Canada there is a full on mailstrike right now, and it'd cost me more to order online and get it shipped, as long as the guy still has the figure then I will get him to hold it for me, and will get it on payday, if not then I'll have to see if I can trade other stuff or pay him enough to just straight out buy it.

What's a fair price to pay for the battle damaged IM figure? I see him going from 1-200 on ebay, I'm going to buy back the 12'' Hal jordan figure, but not sure how much else to give in addition? I was planning on getting him a bunch of comics he's missing along with 2-3 darkest night figures, seem fair ? or $60 + the figure?

All I can say is what you feel comfortable with doing. If you loose sleep, it was a bad call, if you sleep like a baby, it was good! Trust your gut. =D

My gut says you deserve to own nice things and this figure is fucking sick and as much as I love the figures in my mind I could never allow myself in my current financial status to justify spending $200+ on. Someday down the road I invision myself having massive displays and tons of fancy stuff but until that day I'm content trying to collect a lot of inexpensive figures. If I can work out a deal with my comic guy and get him a good pile of figures and comics for a good price then yeh it's gonna happen.

Good luck, BTW, let me know about those 3 figures. I'm tired of them sitting around and I might return them in a couple of days if you don't want them.
