so i just finished reading volume 3 of knightfall and i am a little confused. what happened to bruce healing, plus him going to south america in search of tim's dad and the doctor? i mean i know what happened from the context but are these issues collected in a seperate trade? theres about a 10 issue jump from where volume 2 leaves off and volume 3 begins. just curious if anyone knew about them since i would like to read those too. thanks

If you are interested I prefer the paperback novel written by Denny O'Neil which covers the whole story from beginning to end. the original is out of print but you should be able to find the rerelease they did a couple of years ago for $10.
For the original question asked it has been too long for me to recall, sorry |

The section that you're missing is the middle portion of the trilogy called Knightquest (the first and third being Knightfall and KnightsEnd, respectively). And Knightquest itself is split into two sections. There's Knightquest: The Search, which covers Bruce's arc; and Knightquest: The Crusade, which covers Jean-Paul's rise as the new Dark Knight.
Sadly, Knightquest has never been collected into TPB. Batman: Knightfall - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

You're missing the part where Kelly Jones' art doesn't suck!
A perfect example of where art can kill a good story- I ended up liking the novel though! |

Heh, took 'em long enough. That saga is almost 20 years old now.

I need this entire arc. I've only read parts 1 and 3.

I have a question: Originally I wanted the larger Knightfall volumes 1-3. But thats ALOT of space in a small shelf. Would I be missing any crucial story parts if I chose to the the smaller three part Knightfall TP's; Broken Bat, Who Rules the Night, and Knightsend?

You aren't missing much. It was ok from a 90's perspective but now? Not so sure. I don't like trades myself in case I can't find them I prefer single issues.

It's terrible, although the BBC Radio One audio drama proved it's possible to polish a turd and make it better...
