Hey folks, was digging around the spare room and came across a ton of old stuff - these caught my eye, anyone know what series they are from?
Got these in the late 80's to super early 90's. Some are Transformers, but anyone know more about them? Date of release, which release are they from? The little white TF car is a pull-back one, drives off like crazy once you let it go, and still works as if it was bought yesterday ;p I never really watched TF but played with them back in the day lol was more of a TMNT guy - had well over 50 figures from the Turtle series when I was a kid. If anyone can help to ID these, would be greatly appreciated, Much thanks. |

Hi! the bigger one in the first photo is Grimlock from the TF Pretender Classics line released in 1989.

They're all Transformers toys.
Stranglehold (Pretender, 1989): smaller shell figure in pics 1, 2, 3. Inner robot is the orange & green animal figure in pics 7 & 8. It came with a gray gun & maroon helmet (same color as left arm) for the shell, an orange gun for the animal/robot, and a lavender/light purple piece that was shoulder armor for the shell or a tail-piece for the animal. Grimlock ((Pretenders Classics, 1989): larger shell figure in pics 1, 2, & 4. Inner robot is the gray & black one in pics 7, 8, & 9. came with a brown helmet & black gun/sword for the shell, and a gray cannon/tailpiece for the inner robot (that the shell could also hold). White car is Searchlight, a Throttlebot from 1986. no accessories. (pics 5 & 6) in pics 7 & 8: yellow car is Flame, a Motorvator -- only sold in Europe in 1991. the red & yellow mini robot (pic 10) is Flame's Headmaster partner/driver. it came with a red sword/gun. green-blue & red tank/robot is Stalker, a Predator -- only sold in Europe in 1992. It was recolor in a silver scheme as Soundwave for Machine Wars in the late 90's. came with a radar dish, a weird brown gun, some little green missiles, and a big rocket. whew! I didn't know the European ones completely off the top of my head -- I had to look them up using TFU.info which has an ID tool. |

It has haunted me for decades not knowing what the heck these were, and you have successfully unlocked the secrets LOL Cheers man.. seriously your knowledge of vintage Transformers toys are out of this world, insane! ;p I took a gander at that website you mentioned at the end.. very good site, didn't realize I was missing a ton of accessories. While I was looking up old toys on Google, also checked the old late 80's, early 90's TMNT figures, didn't know there went for so much money now. I sold a lot of 15 or so old TMNT figures on eBay about 10 years ago for less than $5 =_= Do you think these are worth any money later on? |

you're welcome!
Searchlight probably given the condition (and, since Throttlebots didn't have accessories, it's complete!) European TFs are more valuable because of rarity, but yours aren't in great shape, sorry. the rest, if you're lucky ... |
