Title says it all. Post pics and recipes for customs that are easily accomplished. Ideally, a custom that can be created solely by part-swapping and minimal, if any, paint application. Any and all figures and sizes welcome.

Dark Ms. Marvel
Classic Ms. Marvel Body, Modern Ms. Marvel Head. Though they are making a real Dark Ms. Marvel, that face mask is also perfect for Black Cat if you want to keep your homemade one. Light Blue and Black Mr. Fantastic That costume Johnny storm with reed's head. Fixes the proportional issues too. Ultron Ironman Ultron's head on extremis ironman body. Just like the comic cover. |

Bond. James Bond.
Easiest custom you could ever do, and one that produces a very cool outcome. I bought the Lord Asriel figure from The Golden Compass toys a little over a year ago from Big Lots specifically for this reason. I held on to it just waiting to come across the perfect body. Originally, I wanted to use the James McCullen SDCC exclusive suit body but after seeing it in person I felt the suit did not work. Once I saw Face from the current 3 3/4 A-Team line I knew it was the right one to use. A simple head swap and I now have James Bond running around my 3 3/4" world. I actually need to either paint his hands flesh tone or find a suitable replacement set. So far, none of the flesh-colored GI Joe hands I've tried have fit (it's very surprising how FEW Joe figures actually have bare hands). Or I might get another A-Team character to use their hands. I don't mind the gloves, they kind of look like he's ready to do some killing, but I think he needs bare hands too. Pic of the Golden Compass figure shown for reference. These are great, I love simple customs. I did not like the ninja warrior Snake Eyes from ROC after I bought him (I saw pictures of City Strike and was just no longer satisfied) so I yanked his visor thingie off and put Red Fang Ninja's goggles and harness on him to have just another random ninja.

One very simple Transformers custom is with Human Alliance Bumblebee. Use a small screwdriver and remove the 3 screws that hold his pelvis together. The two hip halves should pop apart very easily. Then take the legs and swap them around, left for right and right for left. Then reassemble the hips and put the screws back in and turn the legs around at the thigh swivel. That's it.
It makes him much more movie accurate and doesn't affect the overall transformation. The only trick is the waist/legs need to be rotated 180 degrees before collapsing to form the rear of the car, but there's enough clearance under the rear windshield to do it without forcing it. If you own this toy and haven't done it yet, what are you waiting for?!

Love your idea with the Face figure. I'm going to go out and get it right now. Not sure if the Golden compass stuff is on the shelf anymore...

Quick fix for MU Punisher, since Hasbro is incapable of getting his head right. DCUIH Black Adam head works perfectly as a replacement head for Punisher. I used the Target exclusive 2-Pack Punisher body, which I feel is far superior to the original two single-card releases. Although I do like the bandana on the 2-pack Punisher head, his chin is absurd and his eyes are way too close together.
The flesh color is different between the two so if you want it to match perfectly you'll have to paint one or the other (I painted the neck and left the head as is). |

Has anyone seen Cpt. Argyus from the clone wars line? That helmet would work for Ares. There are a number of Joe heads that would work for his head. I just can't think of an "easy" body to use.

These new 30th Anniversary Joes got me back into the line again. Working on a little setup and created my own little specialized Viper squad. Mainly just head swaps on various ROC figures, but some include random gear as well. Very simple, but I like how they came out.
I also made an Urban-Viper. Again, just a head swap. |

Awesome thread! I like those simple Joe swaps, the last is by far the best, that while body with the red head is atrocious, hahahaha.
Great idea on that Punisher, hadnt even thought of that but ill wait on the new Punisher. As simple as you can get: Marvel Legends Showdown body with Marvel Universe head

My best buddy [KaptainKhaos on Toyark] made this along time ago. Remember to go harass him and make him become more involved in the forum lol.
[Insert name here] is the English Spy of the Joes, some one who can sneak up on Snakes Eyes. Maybe not win when it comes to sword combat, but when it comes to fistycuffs, he has earned Snake Eyes respect on many occasions.

Nick Fury in a Shield suit
Just swaped the head on hands, the jacket was insanely tight on him once you switch to the shield body so i changed it up to this. Winter Soldier body, shield agent shoulders nick fury head and hands. Orignial Captain America with the horn shield just switched the head with a Cobra trooper. Also did it to Winter soldiers Just opened the chest switched out the Arm along with the head and boom shield Winter Soldier and Hydra soldier too.
