LEGO Roundup - Hogwarts, 2012 Sales, & Smaller Boxes
Hogwarts is ridiculously impressive. I can't even imagine attempting anything even remotely close to this scale...Truly an impressive feat and a work of art. |

I'm really glad to see all the haters (when I say haters I mean all the feminists who were decrying it as gender stereotyping) proven wrong on the Friends line. My girls like it a lot and a lot of the scenes are positive for girls and not just shopping and cheerleading stereotypical stuff like other girl lines.
It's also about time they dropped the box sizes. You might be fooling the first parent who goes to buy the set into thinking the box is that big because it has to hold all those pieces, but you're not fooling anyone after the first purchase. When half the box is air you're worse than a cereal box, and you're wasting a retailer's valuable shelf space, despite the fact that Lego is a great seller. |

That's insane, I know they do show it in the movies, but it is nice to see the whole thing at once.
Man the dusting on that thing, can't even keep my shelves dusted. Hopefully, if she ever runs out of room for it some where can put it on display for her so it doesn't have to be taken apart. Last edited by jestermon; 02-28-2013 at 04:55 PM.. |

I bought the official LEGO release of Hogwarts for my girlfriend a long time ago, and this fan project makes that set look like it came from a dollar store (ours cost $100+). The batcave in the article was incredible too, I'd love to own something like that.

So much so that they have their own line of smaller bag type set releases in their own set. And I hope if they do well enough that we will see that move onto other lines as well. I want to see Friends still be around when my girls have graduated from their Duplos. Quote:
