I don't know about everyone else, but I feel disapointed with the 30th anniversary sub. I expected great sculpts that would introduce fantastic new characters like Draego-man, but instead it looks like we will get nothing but overpriced junk like, spector and sir laser-lot. I think the only way we can truly send a message to the so called "toy guru" is to cancel our 30th subs.
Lets make Feb 25 cancel your 30th anniversary sub day Last edited by Primehunter; 02-18-2012 at 08:08 PM.. |

I hear ya man. When I first heard about the 30th Anniversary subscription I was excited for extra bi-monthly Masters figs. Instead we get other people's creations in Masters form. I wanted actual Masters of the Universe characters maybe from the comics or something. I'll accept Photog as nostalgic and Draego-Man is cool but this Knight and Spector belong in Marvel & DC comic books, not in the Masters Universe. The Horsemen are brilliant designers and sculptors. I like 90% of what they do. Why not let them design all the 30th figs so they at least fit in with the rest. Only 2 figs left to reveal and they are already talking about continuing the 30th sub next year. I will not fall for that again.
I have my Photog in the mail as package one of three from Matty this month. All three shipped days apart yet they could not combine the shipping. They will probably all arrive next week. It's been a stressful year so far with Mattel cramming all their products at us every other month instead of spreading it out while reaming us with shipping charges for their mistakes. They act like they arn't making a profit and we should be lucky to even get them. A soon as they make the last couple of characters I want I may be done with MOTUC. I know my wallet will thank me.

I purposely didn't mention Photog, because as much as I hate the design, I still feel that he actually belongs in the 30th sub. As far as shipping, my Voltron sub, 30th sub, and Eternia sub, all shipped two days apart from one another, so they got me on shipping three times. Next year I'm done with subs, I will just pick and choose on the day of release.

Doing that and ignoring matty forums as well as 99% of the talk at He-Man.org -- as well as the Matty zombies on other sites who are supporting a broken system -- have made me a much happier collector and helped me enjoy MOTU much more than I did in the past. |

As far as cancelling your subs; best of luck! This isn't "easy" but the easiest way to get out of a sub with them is to cancel whatever cc/debit card you purchased with. If you have bill set to auto-pay out that card's account,.. that sucks and might not be worth your time, but if you have nothing tied to it and can live without it for a couple of days (until you get your replacement card), that's your best option. Your other option is to refuse the delivery when it arrives at your door.

I was so excited about the 30th sub script .. and finally announcing that it would be shipped together with regular sub ... but im just sooo happy they showed Mighty Spector before i was duped ... I saw him and I was like nope im not doing it ... i was tempted at the last minute but held true ... and i was rewarded by Sir Craps alot being revealed at NYCC. I love feeling validated.

This is where we demand a Pile of Loot option on the Ask Matty forum. Seriously, it was one of my questions before even seeing this post. This is the sort of crap that pisses me off. BigBadToyStore can do it but Mattel can't? Pathetic. And if it's DigitalRiver that's screwing up, maybe it's time to find a different distributor who can actually design a site whose CSS gets screwed up half the time and the toys don't display properly and is just only now introducing the "innovative option" of updated in your billing info via the site. LOL.

Oh by the way, I already didn't want anything to do with the 30th Anniversary Sub. Sir Laser-lot was bad enough but frick, Mighty Spector looks like Rob Liefeld designed it with those cliche diamonds on the masks. I'd expect to see him in Youngblood, not MOTU Classics. Absolutely sorry looking line up.

He did, it's a complete rip-off of Deadpool, with a little Deathstroke thrown in there for good measure.
TG claims he designed it in the 80s, but won't show anyone the orignial pictures to back it up. And the only thing Geoff Johns has ever done that's even remotely any good was INFINITE CRISIS. And even that's pretty bad. Laser-Lot proves it. Draego-Man looks cool. But not cool enough to plunk down over $80+ for the sub. I think the 30th would have gone better if they went "barbarian" or "fantasy" with it instead of "lame 90's comic book." |

So many people are hating on these and I really can't blame them in this case and the figures are showing. Even Fearless Photog was at an "Almost Gone" state up until today. I can imagine how poorly the rest will do and they don't even have the whole interesting development behind it. What a bunch of numbskulls. If they put out more MOTUC/POP inspired figures, it would've been fine. Look at Vikor. He's getting mad love because he looks like he could be from the line. Yeah, let's have ToyGuru invent some more. Like one that looks like Punisher with grenades and a sniper rifle and one that looks like Sam Fisher of Splinter Cell and give him those fancy goggles. Frick.

Look, I just randomly made these 3 guys up in the last couple of hours (including the time it took to come up with silly names and descriptions) and they still fit better than anything I've seen thus far. Even the snail guy that I started to regret partway through. LOL. Are they perfect? No, but I came up with them off the top of my head. I expect more from a team who had way more time on their hands.

I didn't get a 30th sub. For some reason I knew I'd regret it. I'm confident in my deduction that only Draego-Man will take effort to find. Even with that said, I do kinda like the 30th figures.
Photog- So weird he's cool. Like something out of the Mojoverse. It's amazing a kid came up with him in the 80's. Come on guys, use your "cosmic" imaginations. Spector- The design is so horrible, it also makes him cool (kinda). We all loved mutant books and Image comics in the 90's. Admit it. Sir Lazer-Lot- Ugh. I like his headsculpt, but the rest of him is so...blue.Damn. I'd be pissed too.

Your designs are amazing! The ideas may have been random and quickly put to paper but I think they're cool. I don't buy MOTU. I loved that universe as a kid but I'm just not that interested anymore. However, I always like to see who the new figures are because they're still cool to me. Your ideas fit in. I clicked on and read this thread to see what was up and I'm glad I did.
