Yeah, although the szechuan sauce isn't in every store and people are still selling it on eBay, it's significantly easier to find now. I really wanted to use Rick and Morty figures, but I've never dumped food onto toys before and I had no idea how well they would clean. With the pose skeleton, I have several of them and ruined paint wasn't much concern.
And thanks, guys! I've taken a loooot of robot toy photos over the years. (they're pirates, so I built them their own ship) Gonna have to redo the "robot dance party" because I've since added several fantastic robot figures. The above photo is from a set similar to the extreme set boards, which I learned about through this site, actually. I've thought about getting some, but I've been waiting for them to create a more generic sci-fi one. The orange and purple ones are so recognizably "Transformers" for me that I'm not sure it would work with other figures. Looks like the Diamond Select Selina Kyle is still mercifully cheap, I think this is something I need to invest in. Quote:
Love Love Love the ice cream picture! That is a real one, right? My what a big figure you have there!
This is what I love most about toy photography - people being silly, having fun, the weirder, the better. The bee one is indeed very cute and brought a smile to my face. Thank you! This thread is a real pleasure to get caught up on, thanks for all of the spectacular toy photos. |

It does have very nice articulation in the arms. Full range of motion at the shoulder joints, and elbows that bend. The wheel turns and can retract slightly. It's the NECA Claptrap though, I don't know how the more recent McFarlane Claptrap compares.
I actually recently finished Tales from the Borderlands, which is surprisingly excellent. It's a departure from the shooter elements the series is known for, but the story and setting nailed the tone of the series perfectly. Quote:

I fret about that kind of thing all the time, ha ha. For what it's worth, "The Skull" uses them pretty effectively in an Adventure Team context. You know, that actually looks pretty good? That's a terrific photo. I think I might be able to work with that. So long as there isn't a giant Dinobot on the monitor. Although... And because I've been playing Sea of Thieves today, I've had pirates on the brain. |

Hot damn. So does he come with all of those flame effects? Or are a few of those from effects sets like this one? Coming from the gold standard, that's high praise. The photos you take of new product, or all of them from your own collection or are they sometimes samples they send you to make their stuff look obscenely good? Your Perfect Effect Leonidas photos brought me to tears. I want that figure more than anything, now. I don't buy a lot of third party stuff, though. Mostly the tiny ones. That slope is too slippery for me. This probably makes no sense to anyone that doesn't read the comic. |

Orko ain't got no legs, Lieutenant Dan!
Yeah, it's a Black Mage (Vivi) from the vidja games. Final Fantasy was three years after He-Man, I think? But I've always thought the Black Mage owed its visual cues to Orko. Who knows, wizards with pointy hats have been around since long before all of that. [Edit: Sorry, missed the replies as I was typing mine up: His name is Vivi Ornitier from Play Arts. It was something of a grail of mine for years. A lot of those early Play Arts toys go for obscene prices now, pretty sure these two would pay my rent for a couple months if I ever decided to sell them.] And this one is getting up there, though I'm sure she'll get a retail release at some point. Fire is just the start. I wanna get the Tamashii thunder and wind effect pieces, as well. The dark purple flame effects look really nice, too. Last edited by Brownfinger; 03-04-2018 at 10:06 PM.. |

That's a fun shot, Bo. I really like the lights on Dredd's bike.
