Ahh, that explains some of the animus. I watch/read very few reviews as I trust my eyes and judgement more than someone else's opinion - when I watch/read, it's just for articulation. It goes without saying that not everyone knows the particulars about life for a reviewer and some comments/questions are truly innocuous. Curiosity, or speculation, shouldn't necessarily rise to the level of high offense. Especially, when perspectives are as easily communicated as you've just demonstrated. Thanks, now I know...but you'll have to excuse me, genuflecting just isn’t something I do. EDIT I just re-read that exchange to make certain I wasn't being some kind of way (cuz - self-reflection) and realized that either something had been changed, or I must have initially just given it a cursory glance. Yeah, I now have ZERO problems with anything I’ve written… Last edited by TheBlueMarvel; 04-01-2019 at 03:02 AM.. Reason: Lol..gleaned enough from Brown's post to piece together the edit |

Pretty sure I've commented on this one before, but this is art. My camera cost $50 and is held together by rubber bands, doing more with less is always something I'll stand and commend.

Snip... don’t want to drag on a discussion that’s honestly none of my business.

I saw before the edit, neener!
But yeah, it doesn’t seem like any of the interested parties were looking to pry. It’s been let go, so I’ll move on as well. As far as video reviews go, I generally can’t stand them. For a few of the reasons you cited, but mostly because those people are not interesting or fun to listen to. There are always exceptions, but many of the thoughtful opinions and photos here have swayed me better than any clickbait dullard ever could. If I do look, it will be a brief glance to judge scale or articulation. |

@Brown
Thank you for the kindness and I share your cheap camera pain. That said, they do allow for unintended mistakes that can lead to a sort of unpredictable visual patina. Today's high fidelity images can sometimes be too perfect (IMO), lending a certain sterility to the end product. I’ll be upgrading this month, but then I’ll have to relearn my process. I’m excited by the challenge! ...and agreed. There isn't anything I want or need to know about anyone here (well, barring knowing about the wellbeing of the people with whom I’m friendly). I was earnestly trying to derail the convo before becoming the object of caustic vitriol. But that's fine, we all engage in our own peccadillos from time to time. @TheBlueMarvel, can you please show a behind the scenes picture of what you use for lighting? I am searching for something to get good colorful effects like you. Love your stuff! Thank you!

Is it riding the other suit while flying or stradling it while it's downed? The posing looks like the latter but they're also in the clouds I think? Great pic either way but just trying to get the skinny.
------------------------------------ @TheBlueMarvel you may be interested in this one having some mecha enthusiasm in your background - So a grail got got today in the form of the Wave Corporation W.H.A.M. AV-98 1:48 Patrol Labor Ingram Alphonse. Will definitely get into depth on it when I get it home and opened but man oh man... Quote:

Honestly, there's nothing delicate about it at all, I just don't understand why if pics of my collection were wanted no one just asked "Could you take a pic of your collection room?" rather than asking if I had pictures and when I said no just going off on this tangent of whatever the hell that even WAS (seemed like passive-aggressiveness over the fact that I replied no which is strange in itself.) And it's especially weird afterwards that I'm the one that someone attempted to call on not being straightforward when I'm the only one that was. It's more being annoyed than feeling pried upon because that side-mess was pointless and dragged. THANK YOU! https://youtu.be/1kc8sIyfu0A?t=40

It's the Patlabor Ingram. I think if you familiarized yourself with the series you'd agree that it's much better than Tekkaman Blade, tbh. It's one of the more beloved real robot franchises out there.

Ok, I just don't see any aesthetic similarity so I thought maybe it was just a loose comparison like white bot green visor.
------------------------------- Looking forward to actually getting to shoot this thing. It's got some neat gimmicks to it.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Either way, immense respect for the work shown off, all-around. Usually don't post the rejected photos from a particular shoot that I've posted already, but I was doing all of this on top of my car after waking at 5am with temperatures in the 30's. So, I thought I'd get my money's worth! Also because this guy has so much sculpted detail that the night makes him look even more sinister. Last edited by Brownfinger; 04-01-2019 at 05:24 PM.. |

I enjoy the lighting on it (I think I wrote that before as well.) ----------------------------------- The little gimmicks on this one are good. Particularly a lever that moves Izumi up and down to be visbile through the neck (The chest area also opens to reveal him as well when lowered.)

@Kuma
Patlabor was cool enough, but honestly, a lot of that stuff blurs for me. I'm just not a big mech, guy. I’ve seen many a show, but I can’t tell you what happened in any of them. The only invested mech interests I’ve ever had were in what has become known (stateside) as the Robotech trilogy – not even TF, well, outside of Shockwave, of course. However, since early childhood, I've very much been a giant quasi-spiritual/god-robot guy: Tetsujin 28, Force Five/Starvengers, Voltron, Takegami, Tranzor Z, Giant Robo, E.V.A. etc (even Mighty Orbots). I haven’t collected a toy robot line since Fewture’s AD Mazinger and that was a result of…well, they were/are SICK looking…but my collection of Fewture’s Devil Man figs naturally took me there. My manga and anime interests revolve around an eclectic mix of oni/tengu/demons (Devil Man, Demon Prince Enma, 3x3 Eyes, Doomed Megalopolis, Wicked City, Berserk, yadda) , fantasy (Record of Lodoss War, Gantz [yes, Gantz], Fate Zero, Guyver – oh, Lisker…so funny), and martial pugilistic matters (Crying Freeman, Fist: Hokuto no Ken, Ninja Scroll, Basilisk, Dog Soldiers, Baki the Grappler, Samurai Deeper, etc). That's not even factoring my feature length interests like Lensmen, Akira, and so on. Most of my faves skew old – no surprise, I’m a grown man - but I like some new stuff…of the non-mech variety. Not that mecha doesn't have its place. Last edited by TheBlueMarvel; 04-01-2019 at 08:00 PM.. |

So basically, you just prefer Super Robots over Real Robots which is cool and I do too in terms of the mecha themselves but I have a lot of love for both and designs like the Ingram and Helldiver Patrol and Airborne Labors are some of my favorites across the board.
------------------------------------------------- One more of the Ingram Alphonse. Tomorrow will have the full review/gallery done so will share some more.
