OK, so this goes down as one of the most crazy finds at a store. I even had a friend with me who could not believe this.
Vintage Stock is a chain in the KC to Tulsa area of the midwest. They take toys, comics, movie, ect... in trade for credit or cash. I found this on the shelf and about crapped myself. The guy who rung me up said someone traded it and about 10 other MU figures (all regular not rare in any way) in to the store a couple hours before I got there. The cashier was the same one who took them in for trade and had no idea about what he had, he thought it was just another Dr.Doom figure. I did not have the heart to tell him what the figure really was because he might have felt stupid. But I have often benefited from these kind of things as I buy a lot of second hand things from this chain. |

@ Phantomcrow - That has got to go down in history as one of the greatest finds ever! You lucky sob. Whoever traded that in must not have known what they had, which raises the question of how they came across this figure in the first place. Either way, great for you man!

It is a snap on piece, it goes over the top of the hand but there is nothing on the underhand side. I never got Adam Warlock because I had the single card Thanos, but it looks like the same piece except Doom's is gold painted, not the comic orange that Warlock had.

@ Phantomcrow...
First off, congrats! I don't collect Marvel so I didn't know what all the hub-ub was about this particular pick-up until I consulted Google. No matter, despite my lack of interest in the line, I can still appreciate a serendipitous find such as this. I surmise the lack of anything signifying it as a SDCC exclusive figure boded quite well for you in this instance. I wonder if it were marked as say, GI Joe con exclusives are with that metallic sticker and the proverbial cat were out of the bag this was a special item, if the store's selling price in turn would have reflected that?

Hey PhantomCrow, I've got like $10 to spare if you want to sell ol' Vic. Anyway, nice find, I've had a bit of luck at those stores too.

Well after a long battle with FedEx to get my package that was delivered to the wrong address....IT FINALLY CAME!
Couldn't sleep after fighting with FedEx for a week so I figured I'd find some room in the display for him ...I shoulda taken some bot-mode pics, this sucker is HUGE, but I was too anxious to get him into my display. |

Awesome display. I love the idea of putting Fort Max and Metroplex together as Minibot City.
Is that the Takara/Tomy reissue Fort Max or one of the Japanese/Korean releases? I've got the TT one on preorder with BBTS, but it's not due to come in until mid-April.

That is awesome Fort Max. I almost pre ordered him as well, but decided against it cause it's Takara. I need to stick with my guns and get only Hasbro. If I ever cross the line into Takara, I may have to get a second job:P Although I will be getting the Hasbro Metroplex when it comes out.

Fort Max is vintage, I'm assuming U.S. version since I got it from a seller in Illinois who claimed to have picked it up at a yard sale. And Brave Max is the Korean version, I just got lucky that his Autobot symbol wasn't applied up side down. Quote:

Haha I know, I'll stick with Metroplex though, he's more G1 if I remember correctly...although I know that figure is based off of the FOC game.
