I may later, especially since Ray and Peter are the two double packed figures of the wave so if I wait it out they might become cheaper on Amazon. I'm definitely interested looking ahead at which all characters we'll see in the next assortment. We already got the entire '84 team so I don't think we necessarily need any of them in wave 2, and then the grey suits from the sequel could probably just wait to be done as a multipack. I'd imagine Slimer would be a relatively safe guess for the second wave but hopefully if he is they'd actually use the '84 design as the basis for the figure instead of one of the later more silly/cartoon-like interpretations. Of course we'll eventually get Peck because both Mattel and Diamond included him in their lines and nothing says toyetic like William Atherton in a suit.

I actually thought about posing Egon and Winston around an actual Twinkie but I didn't want to buy a single snack-cake just for that. I don't like Twinkies as much as I used to when I was a kid, I now find their weird oily, slick skin off putting.

Curse you Ludovicotek!!!
I had to go to Walmart for some last-minute grocery pickups so I checked the toy section and they had one Venkman and two Stantz on the shelf. I caved and got them to complete the team. I personally find these two to be the weakest of the four but they are still good toys since all four are well made. The trap being hollow from the bottom kind of irks me but then the rest of its sculpt and paint details are actually pretty great, especially compared to the underdone PKE meter. Ray's goggles are a nice inclusion but I found getting them on his head to be a hassle because of his hair's sculpt. The likeness on these two is still good enough but compared to Harold and Ernie they aren't as on point. Bill Murray's cheeks in particular look too smooth because it's made in this plastic, and then I see Dan Aykroyd's face on this figure but there's something off about the shape of his head from different angles. Those notes aside though I like that Ray has a more portly torso and then obviously Peter has to have his loose, non-tucked leg bottoms. Also in this Walmart's toy section right next to the three Ghostbusters they had Scarlett from the Classified line. I'm not a GI Joe fan, I don't dislike it or anything negative like that it's just not something I ever really got in to. I'm aware of the basics, some of the characters, and the various toy lines but it's never really managed to break into my circle of interest. Feeling that way though I saw the Scarlett figure and after giving it a brief look in box out of curiosity, hot damn this is just a neat toy. I really dig the vaguely sci-fi armor she's got going on and then the color scheme just pops. Not all of the paint apps on the armor are exact, there are some spots where colors bleed or where they don't quite fill all that they're supposed to but for the most part everything's good. The entire head is just great with a very nicely rendered face and then I particularly like the sculpt and soft highlights on her hair. The articulation is also great, the hips can even be pivoted down in their sockets kind of like a Figma to allow for more range there which is a feature I'd like to see carried over to Marvel Legends. Her three knives and crossbow are also really cool despite being unpainted black plastic. Really my only annoyance with this toy is that her harness and belt piece can sometimes feel in the way while posing the figure because they're so loose, but it's always easy to get them back in place then afterwards and that's my only even remotely negative remark. Hasbro just really did a great job here and I'm interested to see how this line approaches Firefly.

Regarding the proton stream, I'm theorizing that maybe we'll get some included with the different ghost figures later. Some could even be sculpted to ensnare said ghosts, like a lasso shape.

Been a while since I posted. I have bought a ton, just so busy. Lol. Anyway. My first one:12 figure and wow is he great. My big issue is does he go with my silent screamers or is this the start of a new world? The alpha flight I picked up for $64 on Tuesday. Couldn’t say no.

Ha! What can I say? We're a bunch of enablers on here.
The 'busters are looking good, man. And Scarlett is a fun figure. Destro and Snake Eyes are my favorites from the wave, but they're all surprisingly solid once you have them in hand. |

That Psylocke does great, but unfortunately I've never seen her in person. I don't collect Marvel Select, but I couldn't say no when I saw both Storm & Rogue sitting on the shelf at the lcs.

I haven't yet properly introduced the Matrix staircase. Here is a picture what it's supposed to look like when fully assembled:
https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon....sTSUL._AC_.jpg I don't mind some pieces missing as I only wanted the stairs anyway. The figures are well done in detail but stuck in their pose. There is limited articulation but what else could you do with them? Although I think I just got an idea... Last edited by Astra; 07-21-2020 at 03:14 AM.. |
