The same SW figs that have been there forever. A single Cap movie figure that made it's way to the shelf all by it's lonesome.. Clearance Green Lantern figs, the same 3 Renegade Joes that are always there. Stores around here really F'n blow!

Ebay? No clue. This was about $250 at the retail store I've been hitting up. No idea what the actual value is though because I'm not a Transformer fanatic, but I'm pretty sure this is a pre-orange-cap version, sealed, BUT STILL NOT WORTH IT FOR ME. I will say that it is an amazing figure considering its time, and the fact that it predates the issues with toys looking like weapons is ridiculously awesome. I mean FUCK, this old school figure is a gun, and a realistic one too. That is some crazy shit.

That's about normal for a MISB G1 Megatron these days. Higher, if it's AFA-graded.

And yes, he is an awesome figure for his time (limited articulation, but that's how it was with most G1 TFs.). And the stock and silencer parts turn him from a standard Walther P38 into the gun used on the "Man from U.N.C.L.E." TV series. If anyone is interested in getting him, I would recommend trying to find his more recent Takara reissue as it might be cheaper and it includes all of the accessories that the Japanese version had (which was not included in the US version). Not to mention the fact that the original Microchange toy was a working BB gun in Japan, so all the Megatron ones released over there have working BB gun parts (and come with pellets). The US release of Megs had the BB gun parts stripped out.

What boggles my mind is. Why on earth would they slap a fuckin price tag on that beauty??? They know enough about it to ask $250 for it, but not enough to not put a sticker on a 30 yr old box??

I looked it up on ebay and there are listings for a version of it with an orange cap on the tip of the barrel, so I assumed this version predated that one. Then again, I know nothing about Transformers.

There is no "orange cap" version of G1 Megs. As you said, his G1 toy pre-dates the laws that cover toy weapons. But he was one of the reasons those laws came into effect. And yes, he is an awesome figure for his time (limited articulation, but that's how it was with most G1 TFs.). And the stock and silencer parts turn him from a standard Walther P38 into the gun used on the "Man from U.N.C.L.E." TV series. Passed on Avengers 6" figures (none of which were Hulk or Hawkeye). Also passed on all Retaliation, DKR and ASM figures. Also saw clearanced DCUC figures, including All-Star Hal Jordan and Wave 20(?) Sinestro Corps Sinestro. At $11 each, I might actually go back and pick up Hal.

Of course, some of us were able to find importers who didn't mod our brand new toys or open a factory-sealed box. MP Megs is good, but there are some minor issues with his mold (mostly fragility and potential rusting/discoloration of the die cast parts). The other thing that might throw people off is that even though MP Megs turns into that Walther P38 better than G1 Megs does, the MP version is comically over-sized.
