From what I can tell, there are three different price points with these Mash-Ups. There's the "basic" version for around $10 (Cap), the deluxe version at $15-ish (Iron Patriot, Hulk, et. al.) and the Electronic ones at $20 or so (Wolverine and Iron Man). The higher the price point, the more accessories included.
Saw all three at TRU over the weekend. Still no Doom, though.

In my area, the Marvel Legends Deadpool wave arrived and disappeared almost overnight (all except for Neo-Classic Iron Man), and the Hit Monkey wave was practically a no-show, but the Rocket Raccoon wave keeps slowly trickling into my area. I keep finding random figures at random Wal-Marts. Passed on the Jean because I bought her from Hasbro Toy Shop months ago, and I probably would have grabbed Wrecker if Black Panther had been there too (so I could finish Rocket Raccoon).
BTW, those aren't the ML price tags below the figures, lol. This was just the closest shelf that was big enough to hold these four for the pic. Also, I spotted these Cloaks at another Wal-Mart. Last edited by Frank Richards; 12-30-2013 at 11:00 PM.. |

I really wanted to pick these up, but they looked like they had been put on the shelf buy a 2 year old. The packages were torn and crushed badly. Normally I would not care, but I will not open these since they are not new characters and the package design is about the best MH has ever done. But they are Target Exclusives so they will be all over the place shortly.

I wish they were to scale with the upcoming DC Total Heroes stuff. Those two lines have a very similar look, if memory serves. I'd be all over those Mashers if I was still a kid - I loved the mix n' match Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots toys when I was younger. |

Looks like the Total Heroes line has finally hit stores
I saw these at TrU today. Honestly, they aren't nearly as bad as I had anticipated, but they are FAR from being what I would consider to be "good" figures. But, with the popularity of Mattel's generic Batman line and Hasbro's Marvel Super Hero Mashers line, I guess that there's a market for these. Lol, I don't get the appeal of ANY of those aforementioned figure lines, but I'm sure that I've posted pics of plenty of purchases that have made other Arkers ask "what was he thinking ?" |

For all of the Adam West-era Batman fans out there, I found this at Target ! I had no idea that Mattel had released a Ken doll dressed as 60's TV Batman! I typically don't buy Barbies, lol, but this is just so awesomely campy, that if the price gets any lower, I just may have to buy him!
If the costume isn't too tight, it might look great on my Captain Action figure ! Last edited by Frank Richards; 01-14-2014 at 10:56 PM.. |

Seems like a shift in marketing strategy, which makes sense from a business perspective. This might even be a topic worth discussing in a separate thread.
On a separate note, I'm frankly amazed that that TH Batman actually comes with not one but three accessories.

Odd. You'd think they'd be at the same level as the COD soldiers. On the other hand, typical zombies really don't really do much beyond a shuffling walk (or the occasional sprint, if you like that sort of thing). YMMV, I guess.

I kinda dig the stylized look of the characters, and I think the packaging on these is really awesome, they're perfect for a nice wall display. These figs remind me a lot of the Toybiz superhero figs of the late 90's, not quite Marvel Legends, but not 1970's Kenner figures either. They're miles ahead of the atrocious movie Batman and Superman figures we got last year. And holy crap...that Batman actually comes with a grapnel gun, and not one...but TWO batarangs!!! |

I'm not really too sure why everyone is hating on these? Is it only because of the articulation? If so, man have we as collectors become spoiled, because these are not really all that bad. They're definitely better than the Target Exclusive Justice League figures.

I'm not hating, but "sigh" is my reaction when I see those yet what I'm waiting (dreaming) for is MU-quality DC figures. That's just the opposite of my wish-list
