"It will include a regular and a damaged mask, interchangeable lower jaws, interchangeable hands, a swap out battle damaged chest, swap out hip holster piece, Cain’s brain, his Auto-9 Pistol, a ratchet, a keycard and a blast effects piece."
Not to nitpick, but that's not a key card. It's a packet of NUKE, the designer drug that is running wild in Detroit and is being pushed by Cain. I wish they would have included the larger cannister that Lewis gave to Cain in final scene. I know that Peter Weller's likeness is also a no go due to financial reasons, but I would have preferred a generic head with no visor as opposed to none at all. Still...looks good...caught between this one and the first. I've never much been a fan of the blueish hued armor of the second film, so I'll probably pick up the part one version instead. Still loving though that they are including Cain's brain with this, and has me wondering if we will ever see a fully realized Robocop-2 figure. |

One day someone will give us a fully articulated Robocain... Sigh....

Ah, yes. Completely slipped my mind. I was looking at the Google translate from the email and not the pics.

Not saying it can't or won't be done by someone. but I can understand why most shy away from doing so.

Robocain is too expensive. Only hope is if NECA does it. It will be over 100 dollars easily and I am not sure who will commit the money for it.
If MAFEX does one, it will probably cost close to 300 imo. |

Robocain would be so awesome, especially if NECA managed to do it to go with their other Robocop stuff. But I see the hurdles that Joe mentioned...to get it right it would probably be very cost-prohibitive (so many complex, moving parts), and yeah, dem chicken legs. He would totally need a figure stand of some sort just to remain upright, especially if you hope to get anything resembling a dynamic pose out of him.

I'm doing a Cain. Here's a shot showing the scale.

The head is great, but the rest him doesn't look anything like Robocain!

This is amazing! You have no idea how excited I am right now! I created an account just so I could leave a comment..
I love that they're including a ratchet from the last shot of the movie. That's exactly how I'm posing him. |

Robocain would be da shizz. I think I dig 2 as much as the original. Nice mix of accessories and paint looks purdy good. I think I probably need this and the ratchet kinda seals the deal.

Welp, this finally got me to register.
I'm super disappointed that they've gone the route of a glorified repaint. I'd prefer if they dropped some of the new accessories in favor of retooling some of the body parts. I didn't mind NECA mixing and matching suit versions because, you know, it's a sub-$20 figure, but this definitely isn't. How often do MAFEX figs vary from the prototype pictures? I really hope they fix this and do the suit justice. |

Well, the whole suit was re-engineered for the sequel; about half the bolts on the original suit were actually used to hold the thing together so a lot of them disappeared or were replaced with latches on the second. I know that they're not as obvious as, say, the color switch, but I don't think that kind of attention to detail is optional at this price point.
Anyway, the biggest things would be the bolts on the back of the head, around the clavicle, and front & back of the upper arms: those all need to go along with the "spine strip". What needs to be added are new seam lines on the hips, ankles, and shoulders, along with raised rectangular clips behind the shoulder rings, under the arms, inside the thighs, next to each knee... there are 10 of those things missing on the black midsection alone. The tabs at the top of the pistons should have holes in them only for the first movie, yet here they are.... But to actually answer your question: I think taking the bolts off of the shoulders and chest armor and adding the clips next to the rings and on the thighs would get most of the job done; at this scale you can only get so much right, and even at this state it's still more accurate than Hot Toys or Enterbay's efforts, so they're clearly on the right track! |

Are you sure, I thought they just recolord the suit? Damn, I'll have to try to find close up comparable shots. Can you give me a link to where you found all that info?

I'm a big prop/costume person, and the RoboCop suit is my holy grail; I've been researching it in-depth for about 17 years nows, collecting articles, BTS pics, talking to production people... there's no single site that covers any of this, but I'll put together some comparison images for anyone interested
