While the film was awful, I'm really glad that this version of Robo is being produced. I always dug the experimental modifications and upgrades that were put together for him in the film. In addition, I missed the pre-order for the RoboCop from part 1 and I never much cared for the blue tinted hue that he had in part 2, and part three saw him return to the original's look.
In addition this comes with all of the upgrades at a cheaper price point than what trying to get the part 1 figure would be, so it really makes it a no-brainer. Instant day one preorder. |

They need to change that head sculpt, Peter Weller wasn't in the movie.

Also no way that this figure is costing less than the first one(if I'm reading your post right). Though..that would show amazing insight on Medicom's part since 3 is gonna be far less desirable than 1 I think. |

Pre orders for the figure from the first movie are still open in some places. Release date had been delayed to next month(wouldn't be surprised if it gets delayed even further). So still plenty of time to get that figure.

It was 104.00 when I tried to preorder it, only by then it was sold out. The price for this one is listed as 104.00 now, with the part one version just ten dollars cheaper. I wonder if there was an adjustment at some point. Many ebay etailers are asking for around 119 starting and up for part one Robo, so eff that. I'd honestly rather have the flight pack and the arm cannon though over the battle damaged parts (I never used those parts on my Hot Toys Robo) and you still get the Auto-9, heads, leg holster and data spike. Feels like a sweeter deal if you ask me. Quote:
The head they picked is very much like the Hot Toys one...its generic enough to be anybody, but holds enough similar traits that it's possible to see Weller in it if you look for long enough. The head could be a bit wider, (as that was a giveaway it wasn't Weller under the helmet in the film,) but I think it looks appropriate as is. |

Part of the reason the studio went with Robert Burke during the casting was because he shared an almost identical profile to Weller while wearing the helmet. Diehards could spot it instantly of course, but unless you scouring for it, you might honestly not be able to tell the difference.
