Well guys this is my first review here at Toyark so be kind tho I've done tons over at marvellous and action-figure.com. This was released in Hong Kong about 1 week ago. I got it the same time I got my Kaiyodo Metal Gear Snake. A pet peeve first - it's pronounced Rev'o'tech NOT Reeve as I seen in so many reviews. It's short for Revolutionary Technology and Revoltech is not the company name but it describes Kaiyodo's joint system for that line of their toys.
Anywho, this cost me about $340 HK which is about $45US. But they are selling for $370 in most shops I get a frequent flyer discount I guess. So let's start. Packaging: 9.0/10 The thing that I deducted marks for was the clear plastic cover is a lot tighter than the Kaiyodo ones. So when you first open it the parts spill all over the place if you're not careful. Otherwise it's almost perfect, it could've added a few scenes in the movie but meh. I know most of you don't care about the packaging but if I'm paying close to $50 a figure it's good to know that I can repackage it and display it in the original box AND this is more environmentally friendly. Accessories: 8.0/10 It comes with 5 sets of hands! 3 weblines a clear stand which I forgot to take a pic of and 3 weblines. With all these accessories I woulda thought they could give us a case like Kaiyodo and a base. Paint: 9.5/10 The paint apps are spectacular, not sure if it shows in the pics but if you have the MS Spidey then the blue is a shade or 2 darker. There's also some black wash in the costume and the weblines are all painted awesomely, no more sloppy Hasblo paintlines that dont' line up with the molding well almost none. However the lines on mine are brownish black maybe as a result of painting on a red base. This is a wetdream for Hasblo and Mattel. Sculpt: 8.5/10 I deducted some marks for the weird hip joints and the fact that there are no peg holes in the bottom of the feet. It's a ball joint on a weird vertical sliding joint. Don't get me wrong it works well but looks a bit weird. Also I think the the shoulders should be a bit wider and the head is a bit small in my opinion. As well as there is no wrist cut where the web shooters are meaning depending on the pose the web shooters look out of place. Articulation: 10/10 This figures articulation is nuts just look at the pics. You can do all those typical Spidey poses. Scale: 9.0/10 I think it's almost perfect. This looks like a teenager, he's cut but not like a cartoon or he's on roids. I think this is almost perfect for Andrew Garfields Spidey if he was shrunk down to 6-inch scale. Overall: 54/60 This isn't a cheap figure by any stretch, but is it worth putting down almost $50 for? When compared to the Hasblo one coming in at about $20 I say yes. If you enjoy getting Spidey into those movie poses you won't be disappointed with this one.

Nice review Man!
On a personal note, I'm still not a fan of that costume (the set pics of the ASM 2 costume looks MUCH better, and closer to the comics suit) that being said its still a pretty slick looking figure with some nice articulation. And it looks like you can actually make him crouch like EVERY SPIDERMAN FIGURE EVER SHOULD BE ABLE TO DO....*cough* hasbro. ;P

Thanks for the review man I'm really looking forward to the figure now. I was sold on the pics but was awaiting feedback and now it definitely seems worth picking up.

Thanks for the review
I'm not a fan of this costume design at all, but the quality seems to be there in this line so I may pick the Batman up after all. |
