Yeah, I actually like the avatars on the right now.
I do have a suggestion for a new thread in the generation discussion thread. We should have a thread for sales, coupons and deals and such like the one on TFW, but expanded to include some of the other current lines we cover.

Hi.
The site is, by and large, going fine for me so far - but I would request that consideration be made for the splitting of the Transformers and Robot Toys board into two. From the outset, I was worried that the non-TF side of things would be overwhelmed by the children of Primus - and given the disproportionate level of influence seen there at present, I feel that concern is being played out. A dedicated mecha/robot board, where anything from Gundams to Veritechs and whatnot can be discussed, would be, in my humble view, a better option than mixing them in with TFs as they are right now.

Can we figure out why my avatar doesn't show up? It shows up when I'm monkeying around in my Control Panel, and the URL is the same as being used at all the other boards I blather on and whore my customs at, so it's gotta be something with the coding here. Is there a reason for the News Announcement thread to not be the same as the comments thread? I don't understand the logic in seeing the comments show up when an item is shown off, but then having to hop to another thread to "Oooh and Ahhh' at it. |

Also, when we hit on the 'Latest Post' link, we should be taken to the latest post, not the first one.

Not everybody here speaks English, dude. And besides, I don't see how any of it is bad grammar at all. It's a computer screen, IT'S NOT THAT BIG. It's not a terrible, painful chore to just dart your eyes to the right to see user names. Sounds like you're just a little sore because it's different.

I'm pretty sure they do, as a second language at least. Which is an entirely moot point since all the Western languages also read left-to-right as well. I'd be surprised to find the board coding could handle someone typing in a non-Western language like Chinese or Arabic.
Which, again; is all moot and irrelevant to the fact that it's just wrong. |

The avatars on the right are there not because of languages being left to right or vice versa. They are there because when reading threads, straight down, the first thing in the upper left part of the block, where we start reading, is the actual reply, text that you are trying to read. When doing a quick scan, it seems to work better for some folks.
It is not a permanent thing, if over time the lefties want it back, it may come back. |

The entire tone of your post. "This is English, people" and calling it bad grammar, and this:

I read this, and it sounds like the same sort of logic as if you'd said, "Bashing yourself in the face with a rusty fork is the new hotness, wild animal sex with hot women is old and busted', lol.

OK guys, chill out with the back and forth. As staff, I didn't see anything against the rules in anyones tone etc, just bluntness.
Regardless, one pointing something like that out, or someone else responding to it, is not allowed. Report issues to a moderator, or ignore it. And if you are on the other end, do the same. Do not argue within threads, it takes things off topic. |

So, no takers on the splitting mecha from TFs idea, then?

Can we get rid of the On ebay right now thing right after the first post? I understand the need for ad revenue but can we put it somewhere to the side or something?

That's been adjusted, sidebar "latest posts" links go to newest post now.

Having an option to go left or right is not really an option, needs to be one way or another.

I use it on my Blackberry, but I have to disable HTML tables and Stylesheets. (which gives a plain white background with text) and it is fine.
When I have the HTML and Stylesheets active, for some reason, the sidebar navigator text is all black and disappears into the background, when you scroll over it, it will turn white and work, but very difficult to navigate. |

I second that motion. We all like to look at ebay, but when I'm on TA I want to read the threads not have to scroll through ebay first. Put if off to the side or at the bottom. It is annoying.

Another suggestion, make the "latest posts" section longer. There are so many topics to cover with so many categories on this site. If you only list a few they are sometimes about toy categories that someone may not like. If they saw a few more threads that maybe covered one of their passions you might see more postings on this page.

Are these kind of threads going to continue?
Skywarp I know it's not my site, it's yours, but I think inviting conversation here would be better than directing to another site to see the whole post. I understand we can still talk about it here, but you still have to click to another site to see the whole post. It just doesn't seem very conversation-friendly to ToyArk to have to do that, imo. Just an opinion and/or suggestion.

Okay I thought there was already a discussion about this but I can't find it.
When you guys link to TFW or to HISSTANK is the expectation that we respond to the post here on Toyark or to go to the original site and post there. I think most of us are on the other two sites as well so what is the expectation. Personally, I think I've been responding to the original thread on the original forum so that the response is part of the larger discussion. |
