Hey Everyone,
Use this thread as a single source to leave your feedback on how to make Toyark better. Generally anything positive, constructive criticism type things. We will look them over, and adjust how we do things, how things are laid out, and what we cover based on what you tell us. Later! ________ If you have technical issues or problems, or questions on how to do things, please use the Tech Support forum: Tech Support If you have a problem with staff or another member, please contact a moderator, super moderator, or admin (start at the bottom, work your way up): Toy Forums - Show Groups |

So far my first suggestion would be to not open a new window or tab when you're clicking on links within the site. It should remain, in my opinion, in the same window.

That doesn't happen for me. What browser are you using?

I'm using firefox. I noticed it in one particular thread where Tony posted a link to other parts of the site, and when you click on them, it opens a new tab.
Another suggestion I have is that after someone has posted, right below their post, there is the section stating what's on ebay right now. While it's most certainly helpful, perhaps it should be static at the bottom of the page instead of in between posts. |

That is an automatic thing that the forum system does. It makes all links posted using BBCODE open in a new window. I agree it is really annoying. I will look into a hack to fix it, but right now thats the way things work.

I think the avatars are just more intuitive on the left hand side. Awesome start, though. Let's see where it goes!
Also, I couldn't wrap my sig in a url because it said it had too many lines. Just a head's up. |

i agree, and i kinda feel some forums are cluttered with the fact that they have a thread for every figure of a line, IE the marvel forum and all the mighty muggs. couldnt the links be compiled into one sticky at the top and then have the rest of the free space for regular discussion like in the old toyark? just a thought...

The comic figures could get one forums instead of separate ones for DC and Marvel. Also, all the Revoltech figures could get a single thread, since they are in a line in and of themselves anyway.

I think it's simply based on what you're used to. As you are aware, most forum sites have the avatars on the left. This is new and different. I personally like it this way, just for that reason.

I dunno, I kind of like it. It's different and refreshing.

That's probably when they imported the tfw profiles over to here, in preparation for the opening of the site.

Avatars on the right is the new hotness. Avatars on the left are old and busted.

Another suggestion is to keep the very top bar, the one that's black with toyark.com on the left, and home, forums, and news on the right, static. That way, if you're scrolling down and reading a long news article, you can quickly just click on home or forums, to go someplace else.

Can I make a suggestion? Can we have the Ebay ads at the side or bottom of the threads, not right below the first post? It's really irritating and with news posts with multiple pics it can throw you off that there are more pics to teh story.
On-topic: I don't have the problem you have. Everything is contained within the window. |

I do agree somewhat, I keep looking for the name of the poster on the left. BUT, I do like the fact that for pure "reading" purposes, I can scan through a thread quicker, because the text is all lined up on the left with no other distractions. If I need to see that info, i look to the right, done. Takes a bit of getting used to, but so far Im personally digging it.
However, this is all trial and error. We will listen to the folks here overall, and make running changes as we have time, its needed, etc. So just keep sounding off, we're watching and listening. Later! |

Is there any way the left/right orientation could be selectable, like as a board theme? Could port that over to TFW as well if it turns out to be feasible.

I definitely vote for Leftwing Avatars. Being on the right makes me cross eyed for some reason...

I like the "right side" look, but it looks off center. I don't know why. Maybe the side bar with control panel, etc. can be slimmed down a bit to make it look better and give the actual post area extra room. Or maybe it's the fact that there isn't a left side bar to even things out. As I said before, I can't put my finger on why it looks that way.
Also don't like the crosslinking threads to other boards. I understand that TFW, Hisstank, and now TA are all intertwined, but it would look a little more professional to start up conversation and discussion for THIS site without having to use the other two sites for that. I know that content wouldn't be as high, but still.....just looks more professional. Just my opinions. |

Is there a mobile, or PSP edition of the site that could be done up, for those of us who occcasionally hav the wish/need to access the site on a portable device?
I can get both 2005 and Cybertron.ca working on my PSP Slim's web browser, but this site keeps filling up the memory before most of the pages load properly...

I use it on my Blackberry, but I have to disable HTML tables and Stylesheets. (which gives a plain white background with text) and it is fine.
When I have the HTML and Stylesheets active, for some reason, the sidebar navigator text is all black and disappears into the background, when you scroll over it, it will turn white and work, but very difficult to navigate. Both TFW and HissTank are fine, though. EDIT: I would like to add I'm starting to get used to the avatar on the right, distinguishes us a bit. And the ebay ads are annoying to me also, but I understand Tony is trying to rectify it.
