Although MARVEL Anime: X-Men has not appeared yet here in the states, I have watched it with English subtitles and have actually been somewhat impressed.
I can think of a couple more characters I would prefer to see or some characters they could subtract but for the most part I think it's gonna give the 90's X-Men and any other action/comic animated show out there a run for it's money with just the animation alone. Anyways,... I think it would be nice to see an Avengers Anime after the movie becomes successful next summer. I know EMH is probably enough for most but, I think with the whole G4/Anime *jonura, it is more of a show for more mature audiences. I really don't care for the animation on Earth's Mightiest Heroes but, it'll do. I am impressed with the animation from MARVEL Anime: X-Men and would like to see them incorporate this into The Avengers. If they choose not to create a Avengers Anime and Iron Man is a success, I think they should at least consider allowing some of the core members of The Avengers to guest star during the second season. Any thoughts?.... Agree/Disagree? |

I'm not a fan of anime but would be curious to see that style applied to marvel. I still may not like it, but who knows.

Anime ruined Wolverine for me, but made me find a new found love for Omega Red, my whole world is upside down.

I caught some episodes on G4. Iron Man was boring as F***. Wolverine was also boring, but Omega Red was kinda cool. But then I stopped paying attention.

I watched the first two episodes of each, the rest are tucked away on the DVR. Just haven't had a strong desire to watch them any further.

I'm not a fan of anime since Dragon Ball Z. But I just watched 4episodes of Ironman and the action suits it. Pretty fast paste and it looks sick. Wolverine was in a episode So maybe if a X-men can happen an Avengers could!

X-men HAS happened. But I think Avengers would be relying on the success of the other animes. Personally I think Blade has the chance to be the best. I wouldn't mind seeing a Punisher one, if done right..

By the way, Wolverine on the Anime X-Men is WAYYYY more believable than that Wolverine from the current self titled anime.
You'll see. ;-) |

Well thats the trick. Japanese voice actor for wolverine is superior. However, Omega Red doesn't sound good talking Japanese...

I'd be down for it.
I'd like to see marvel expand their character roster though for the next round. Instead of doing direct sequels to all of these, they should open up the roster more and do in spirit/other characters. Ironman -> Avengers or at the very least bring rescue and war machine in X-Men -> Academy X/New X-Men or X-Factor or X-Force (uncanny or v3) or New Mutants Blade -> Ghost Rider or Doc Strange or Midnight Sons or any occult hero Wolverine -> X-23 or Heroes 4 Hire (Luke Cage and Ironfist specificly as they have that more urban edge like Wolverine or X-23 does.) I know it's a pipe dream, but it'd help broaden the amount of animation out there, the stories told, as well as get more characters out to the audiences to make them aware of them for future comic sales/recognition. I also hope this time around they stick to their guns about the story bleed over and crossovers instead of changing or just ditching it like they did with X-Men and Blade. Not one unifying badguy, but give us at least better hints at one unified anime universe if each series is only going to be 10-13 episodes each. I do like the single season format, but if that's the case, do more with it! 13 episodes each for more variety and exposure is perfect. If after 13 eps it wasn't as popular as the mainstays, well you didn't waste a full 52 to find that out! Lesson learned for the next round and not do that character again(though they really shouldn't anyway with that plan, keep expanding until you run out then go back to the mainstays since they'll have this vast backlog of anyone who can appear once established). As for the dubs, I kind of wish they'd better establish why they are speaking certain languages. Like the supernatural anime makes sense to be in english, it's happening in america with american characters. Ironman's anime has a story point that makes it understandable he's speaking japanese, ditto to wolverine. X-Men just glossed over it, as did blade. Blade the Last vampire was done in english originally because it just made story-centric sense for that(american army base in Japan). That's all I'm asking for here. Give me valid story to explain it, and if there isn't one, let them stick to their native tongue that would make sense for it. (Logan speaking japanese, but Omega Red should stick to russian or english. It doesn't make sense that Omega Red speaks such bad japanese without any story reason to explain it.) It honestly makes no sense to me if a character has no reason or purpose speaking a language they shouldn't even know, especially when they aren't in that country(like at the start of X-Men). They are also missing a huge story oppurtunity here as well about language barriers in some instances like say Omega Red. Preferably, and I know an X-23 one won't happen, but if they do, they should get Summer Glau for both and have her switch up the languages used based on what's needed for the scene as the character itself makes sense to be able to adapt to any scenario. Just like wolverine can. Or for the X-men, give us a little english at the beginning with some comment later about Xavier or Emma downloading the language into their brains/translating it for them. This works for both dubs and original. If the scene or location calls for it for best effect, use what's appropriate(takes place in america with americans, use english, if it's in japan, especially a period story like rurouni kenshin or samurai champloo, use japanese). If it doesn't matter and the story is timeless or locationless (like many animes take place in the future, new worlds, new societies, etc like cowboy bebop makes sense either way) it's moot and either works. Holy Hell, why didn't I think of Ghost Rider?! Omg that anime would be awsome!! Blade, Punisher, Ghost Rider. *drool*. Heroes for Hire would be pretty cool too, but Ghost Rider is a must to me!

Yeah, I tried to stick to the motif they used currently with my choices.
Ironman for the avengers universe expansion. X-Men for the X-universe expansion Blade for the occult hero outlet Wolverine for the more urban hero or loner type story. Typically speaking Japan is obsessed with Lolis and female characters though. The idol industry especially seems relevant(and could work to great effect for Dazzler herself). So that tells me characters like Academy X's Surge, X-23, Pixie, and Dazzler need to find some kind of outlet to reach audiences there. X-23 would fit in perfectly alongside the likes of Gunsmith Cats, Noir, Gunslinger Girl, and the thousands of other kid assassins turned good guy type stories they have that always seem to bank ratings-wise. Tiger and Bunny proves how successful a Heroes 4 hire story could be too. Heck, it even proves how well received a new warriors anime could be. Pre-Reality TV show version, or the Reality TV show version. Last edited by Snowflakian; 08-29-2011 at 10:00 PM.. |

Speaking of anime, did anyone see the Japanese intro to the older X-Men animated series that aired on FOX? It's actually awesome and features the roster plus Cable fighting an army of Brood and there's another version that's also anime that escapes me at the moment. LOL.

I don't know if you recall, there was a pilot for an older X-Men cartoon where Kitty Pryde first joins the X-Men and she was scared of Nightcrawler. I believe the team was Prof X, Cyclops, Wolverine (with an Australian accent), Cyclops and Nightcrawler. Magneto, Emma Frost Pyro, Toad, Avalanche and Blob compiled the Brotherhood. The animation in that was stellar. Sadly, it was the only episode made.

Not totally related, but just watching the Batman Animated Series right now on Teletoon Retro and it's the Zeus episode. I'm right at the part where Batman flies up to his balcony in his Batman and Zeus says something along the lines of "Of course. Rising from the darkness, my brother, Lord Hades!!!" and Batman's got this funny look on his face like, "Uh... sure."

Spider-man and his amazing friends. The episode is called "Birth of Firestar" or something like that. It was firestar's origin for the show.
