These customs look great guys!
I want the cloak! I have a question. Do you more experienced modders know of a good medium to sculpt effects from? I was considering maybe hot glue and then paint it but im afraid the paint won't stick proper. Ive noticed a lot of people here use props form other toy lines or figures and they look great but I just can't justify buying figures from lines I don't appreciate just so my cyclops looks like he's blasting someone. Also what tricks do you have for getting that look just right? what tools do you guys use? |

Ivan Venko (Whiplash) custom
I'll admit the paint was simple but I can live with it. Only change would be a full gray metallic coat instead of the almost gold it has. The reason I did this was because it came with a spare head. Last edited by montressor; 11-08-2012 at 07:56 AM.. |

Figured I'd post some of my customs. To be honest, I'm very new at this and most of my customs have been ones with recipes I've gotten from others, some with minor tweaks. Here is a Dr. Nemesis and a Domino I am quite happy with.

Two more of them...Pixie from the X-Men was the most complex one for me yet with a bunch of sculpting.
I know its not necessarily Marvel, but I did a Kid Eternity from Vertigo as well and this one was my first custom as well as a completely original one for me, recipe all my own. |

One last one for now. This one is Chamber from Generation X/X-Men. He was always one of my favorites and I'm glad he's going to be featured in the comics again. This one was totally simple since it involved only parts from various figures and no real painting, a recipe from another customizer.
Someday I plan on giving hot glue a try and making the exploding chest version like I've seen done by a few other customizers. |

Two more finished customs.
Domino This one was just a simple repaint of a Helix GI Joe figure. Man, Helix's head is great for a lot of figures. Too bad she isn't really cheap. But I digress. This is a recipe I've seen done before and I thought I could use some practice painting heads. Turned out well actually. Kid Eternity My first completely original, non-recipe figure I did all on my own. I was going for more of a Vertigo version of him as opposed to his more recent incarnation. And my first with sculpting hair. The base is an Iron Fist to avoid paint rub and he came with the perfect belt, though I might add painting in white was a big lesson. Its a pain! The head is a Buzzer GI Joe figure and the jacket is from a Marcus Terminator figure that is pretty good. Not completely happy with the hair, but since it was my first sculpting experience, I didn't expect awesomeness. |

Awesome Domino! I guess I'm not a bug enough fan, I don't know kid wonder.
Here's my customized kit bash venom now with ball joint hips and swivel ball knees! Finally he can be posed in ways other than standing straight up with his arms in the air! |

What ironman/war machine armor is that skrull second in from left wearing! It's so badass! I love the posse. All I have I s a skrull cap and wolverine. It's hard for me to buy two figs to make one. The only reason I did it was I had an extra cap and wolverine and always hated the avengers skrull body for lack of articulation.

All are repaints of im2 line figures, but some actually had some unique features that were kinda cool and not available in the im2 line

I would have more MU Skrull heads but they cost too much. I have a fair amount of Avengers Skrulls and I don't mind the articulation on them since I only use 3 in my army and they hold guns/weapons well enough. wbcollect has them loose for $5 shipped so I got them there and don't mind using the heads that way. Thanks man.
