Marvel Legends 2012 Arnim Zola Series Daken Wolverine
In 1946, as Wolverine is living in Jasmine Falls, Japan with his pregnant wife, Itsu, Romulus sends the Winter Soldier to kill Itsu. After Itsu's death, a mysterious man cuts baby Daken from his mother's womb and leaves her body lying on the floor. Daken survives this incident due to inheriting his father's healing factor. He becomes a member of the Dark Avengers, as part of "Dark Reign", taking the role of his father. Dark Wolverine lives in the shadows, trapped between evil temptations and his heroic bloodline. Excellent quality on the figure, one of the best in the wave BECAUSE the plastic isn't flimsy. I could do without the articulation points for the toes though, too loose.
Wish this DIDN'T have a variant and came with unmasked AND masked heads in one package. It's only 2 extra pieces, why Hasbro chose to make 1 a variant is beyond me. The variant could've at least used a darker paint job OR had his 3 claws before Wolverine wripped out his 3rd ones. *Variant is the unmasked one pictured.

I'll pick it up when I get the chance. But I will have to find one where the claws aren't so warped. The ones I've seen, I've passed on for that reason.

This being the first time I've ever really seen Daken, I can now say he looks like a Wolverine-Predator-Skrillex hybrid. Not a good start. Actual sculpt looks okay though.
(Alos, Armin Zola's robo head reminds me of Shockwave. The purple colouring doesn't help.) |
