At SDCC this weekend, Hasbro said that in 2012, Marvel Legends will return. Not only are we getting new characters, but we will be getting new figures of characters that Toy Biz already made figures of, but not using Toy Biz molds. So which figures deserve another go around, for 2012?

Here are the figures I think deserve another shot:
  • ASX Wolverine
  • Spiderman 2099
  • Ultimate Wolverine(lots of complaints)
  • Bucky(weird hips)
  • Ultimate Iron Man(head/neck too high)
  • Magneto(NEEDS an update)
  • Silver Centurion Iron Man(look how well the classic Iron Man from the 2 packs turned out
  • Scarlett Spider
  • Invisible Woman
  • Ice Man(Joe Mad style this time...sculpted icicles on body, and no mouth...sculpted hair too)
  • Onslaught(1st form)
  • AOA Weapon X(WITH swappable head sculpt and hands)
  • Modern Ghost Rider with bike
  • Mandarin(Toy Biz version could barely move with the robe)
  • Modular Iron Man(Toy Biz version looked very plain and small) with metallic paint and many modular components
  • Archangel(sculpted costume trim/lines this time instead of painted, and new wings)
  • Modern Sabretooth
  • 1st Appearance Wolverine(1st one had badly hindered shoulders)

I would have to agree with most of that list.

I absolutely want a new 2099 Spidey.

A few others I would love to see them do for my own selfish reasons:

Gambit
Hulkbuster Iron Man
Deadpool

New stuff that I think would be cool to see:

Spider-Man Noir
Spider-Ham
Bucky Captain America

Yeah but the one Hasbro made could be better. It would be better if it was like the recent Hasbro 6" female figures, like Maria Hill, and the upcoming Black Widow. Better articulation, like double jointed knees.

Scarlet Spider. I'd love to see his "classic" look, with the blue hoodie vest.

Whoa can't believe I forgot Gambit! Definitely need him! New Beast would be good...hell Hasbro should redo ASX Cat Beast..that one was disappointing. Spiderman Noir would be bad ass.

Only ones I'd add to that are:

X-23 (academy X graduation outfit)
Surge
Pixie
Horseman Gambit
DarkHawk
Apocalypse(redo)
Ultron(redo)

That's about all I can think of personally, but legends was never my thing.

I wonder if we will see any of the Marvel Zombies characters creep into the new Marvel Legends line...That could be interesting.

I haven't really read a lot of the zombie Marvel books, but the sculpts on new Marvel Zombies figures would be AMAZING, and I would pick some up.

ill want an "avengers classics" wave a separate comic and movie style line. especially since 2012 is the year of the avengers movie.

for movie line its obvious based from who will be in the movie
captain america
thor
black widow
hawkeye
nick fury
*whoever the main villain will be*

for comic verse line; lets base it from the latest roster ( but will probably outdated by 2012)
steve rogers (super soldier)
captain america (bucky)
wasp (hank)
hawkeye
luke cage
mockingbird

Definitely agree here too, but isn't DP getting a new figure in a ML 2-Pack? Not that I'm complaining or anything. You can never have enough Deadpool (unless it's comic books).

Agreed! They could also use the mold and redeco him into one of his other outfits.

Marvel has stated there will not be any action figures based on MZ. AFAIK, they are done with that whole gimmick for good. Pretty sure it was in a Q&A from last year. I think the reasoning was it would be "too scary" for the kids (heroes as monsters).

EDIT: I would also like to see a new classic Hulk (a la Avengers #1 appearance), modern Emma Frost, classic War Machine, female Loki, and modern Thor. The last two could be part of the Thor movie line similar to IM2's 6" figures.

I never had interest in buying the legends line until they made Nova...

But I was highly dissapointed.

Make a Nova Prime and I am in for the long run...

They need a ML Black Cat. The gift pack one was terrible and the Select version has almost no articulation.
I'd also love to have:
Boom Boom/Boomer/Firecracker/Meltdown
Strong Guy
Shatterstar
Monica Rambeau
Baron Mordo
Punisher (Punisher:Warzone movie version)
Medusa
Stryfe
Shriek
a good X-Men movie Mystique
and OMG where is Multiple Man already?

I 2nd everything on this list. Maybe a new She-Hulk, Classic War Machine with James Rhodes 90s TV cartoon Head.

see that announcement make me feel not too excited for their upcoming marvel legends in 2012. i want they make new figures, not old figures from Toybiz re-issue with their "suck" Molding. some old figures that already hard to find, its okay they can re-made again, but i hope they made quite a lot of new figures for this. im sure all of fan want new figures will create, not only old figures will re-made. still many character waiting to be made it, so please dont re-made all from TOYBIZ series

I've been through some of these sites and noone seems to realize the company side of this..

First off Marvel Legends is a toybiz line..
Toybiz merged with marvel at some point, became part of the marvel company

In 2007 marvel entered into a 5 years deal with hasbro to make their toys
at some point they got an extension to 2017 (dont have the details)

When disney bought marvel in 2009 they acquired toybiz also, and renamed the division "Marvel Toys"
Sometime in 2017 Hasbro's deal will be up and most likely Disney will manufacture marvel toys under "Marvel Toys"

Considering hasbro is actually something of a rival of disney in terms of their cartoons and the fact that disney has a long standing relationship with mattel
I have serious doubts they will keep the venture any longer than they have to. So .. I look forward to real marvel legends toys in 2017! made by the renamed toybiz division called Marvel Toys!

hurray for reading!
