Ugh... the hideous comes in a convenient miniature size.

Lemme try that... *ahem* This Blade figure looks like FUCKING ASS. YES, I was spoiled by Wesley Snipes. No matter how badly he f***** up... ... THIS will always be Blade to me... |

No I went to sdcc and saw it in person. Not the same as you "son". And do yourself a favor and read a fucking comic book. You do know what those are right?

Here's the deal folks, this is a filler wave. ML series 1 and 2 came out too close together. Instead of leaving us with empty ML pegs for 6 months Hasbro decided to whip up an EXTRA WAVE for us. Why doesn't it have a BAF? Because it has reissued characters in it. Already have a Doom and Deadpool? Don't need another Mystique? Cool, you can buy Iron Man and someone else without having to track down BAF pieces. Need Doom and Deadpool and don't want to pay $80 for them on ebay? Hasbro just threw you a bone!
So to recap, this is a bonus filler wave that gives us two figures that give the finger to scalpers on ebay. You can pass up figures without worrying about completing a BAF. |

What's with the "Marvel Knights" and "X-Mutants" instead of the actual names?

Marvel Knights is for Blade/Punisher and X-Mutants for Mystique/Moonstar. They are just saving money (being cheap) by not making 2 separate name tags for each. Most people open their figures anyway. As a MOCer doesn't bother me anyway.

Even though i don't really like the head sculpt on Blade, I'd still buy it since I don't have a Blade in my collection. But I'll tell you this: Once I get a better looking Blade somewhere down the line, this one will be gone...
As far as Deadpool goes, I want 2 XF colors and 2 regular. I gotta have 1 of each to open up! The other 2 will stay on card and go up on my wall. The other day, my girlfriend asked me if I was just going to forget about paint or wallpaper and just line the whole wall of my home office with figures. I replied, "Yeah, probably. So what?" She just shook her head and walked away. LOL! |

series 5 blade is crap , only good thing in that pack is the bike and i think this new blade fig is pretty decent, blade has looked like that in the comics and is pretty dead on, and love the black and red coat
thats just my opinion , out of the two blades i would want this one more. and the first blade movie was good but then they killed it in blade 2 and blade 3 when they had triple h wwe lol in it Last edited by jaybird7072; 07-22-2012 at 07:27 AM.. |

^ Blade 2 is dope. Now 3? Eh, I'm biased so I'll leave that one alone but c'mon. I know it's 2012 and the Blade movie franchise is an afterthought right now but those Blade movies stood as some of the best comic book movies ever until times/technology changed. The glow in the dark sword fight in part 2 is shitting on just about everything that came before it and most of what's done now.
The figure? Lol again I'm biased. I have put Wesley in the same category as guys like Reeves and RDJ. He IS that character in my mind now so the movie figure I have IS Blade to me. As a Blade fan, I'm getting the new one for sure. Now, if I actually had some custom skill I'd love to see what the Movie Blade head looks like on the new body. I don't know what it is but I do agree that face could've been done a little better. Maybe its the fact that Wesley's Blade is so calm and cool while effin you up. I don't remember him with the "scream face" too many times. Eh, I don't know. I'm just happy to get new shit.

I would love to see that. Lol then again MJW is my first choice for any ass-kickin black character these days.

It's gonna be hard for me to resist these guys once they're finally released, especially if I come across that Blade and normal version of Deadpool when I'm out and about.

I'd be more interested in a classic styled blade than either of the 2 made/being made but that's me personally

It just so happens I am attempting to hunt that one down! And the Hot Toys Blade... Mmmmmm...

Everyone... according to THIS GUY, the pics of Blade in this thread are not accurate, and we don't read enough comic books. Look, STOP trying to be clever before you hurt yourself. At this point, I fear for your well being. BTW, I checked again, and his head sculpt STILL looks like ass. I doubt seeing it in person would change things. And if he looks like that in the comics, god help us all. No wonder his books aren't selling. |

I don't mind the blow up doll face on Blade. Granted I'm not so much into Blade, so I will probably only grab him for others if I see him. Truly, the only attention I paid to Blade was on film, 1 and 3 I think. I had the MU and sold it off in a lot because I simply have no emotional attachment to the character.
Now I do like that Punisher, And I'll probably grab Doom, and the Deadpools. IronMan is the must for me. I recall maybe last year's ComicCon panel saying that wave three was going to have no BAF and be "reissues" of characters That were released by ToyBiz. That we're getting some new faces (Dani Moonstar, Neo Classic IM) is just gravy for me. So I guess we can chalk it up to everyone having their own opinion about Blade, and we're all correct in that regard. |

If it wasn't for the Wesley Snipes Blade movie, the character Blade in the comics would still look like this:

I agree that they could have done a better job on the head sculpt. I don't really recall blade having that angry screaming look all that often in the comics. Granted, I was never really into Blade comics and was more into the movies, but I have browsed through some issues in the past. So as I said before, I'll grab the figure when it comes out. However, I'll quickly replace it once a new one is released. It may be a few months or years from now, but I'll replace it nonetheless.
To be honest, I'll probably grab every figure from Series 3. I wasn't a huge collector of 6" figs in the past, so my collection isn't vast (rhyme not intended). The figs I want most are Punisher, Deadpool, Doom and Mystique. I'll probably end up buying a case from some website - does anyone know a good website that's not super expensive? I've found a few that are selling pre-orders of cases for $140+, but I remember seeing them for $125 or less somewhere. Sadly, I can't remember what website that was. If anyone out there has a few sites that I could browse through, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance to any help anyone can provide. |
