I did try to shrink NECA Drakes torso when I did the head, but it was the first thing I ever tried and I couldn't get it to work. I'm sure, however, a more normal torso can be done. I'd imagine most people don't shrink anything more than heads because of the amount of material used. The other issue I see with shrinking torsos is getting the top and bottom halves to line up perfectly. The shrinking process is more often than not trial and error.
I would only bother to do a new Craig head if I find a really good inexpensive 1/6 version. The Golden Compass has worked for everyone and it's great, but if I do decide to open a store I'd want completely original work to sell. Vort and Avac and everyone else have everything already covered, so I'd rather have a niche specialty store like Glassman. Do you guys think there's enough interest? If you guys search "MTF Nathan Drake" and "MTF Han Solo" on Facebook, you can see a few pics of the shrink down heads. I need to take better pics and do some touch ups to the paint, but I'm pretty happy with them. My self and a few friends are interested in a lot of legends shrinks so we would be interested |

I'd be willing to shrink Legends heads, but a lot would have to be provided to me. I don't really collect 6" unless it is a character I really like.

I think there is interest, If you did a specialty store and focused on downsized or other niches like creatures I think it would be a hit. Using Marvel, 4 Horseman, DC, and some joes could help fill that niche. I think the business is good because once you get the shrunk head cast it only takes really 2 sales to breakeven. Women heads is another good area to focus on because of variation in hair and picky faces.
I've heard there is a way to use 3D scanning and printing to get it done. Last edited by Kalzeth; 07-26-2017 at 06:20 PM.. |

I don't necessarily want to operate a store too large or get in over my head. I only really learned how to hydroshrink because I knew no one was ever going to make a 1/18 Nate Drake. Now, since it's pretty clear that 4" Marvel is on its last legs, I have a feeling I'd be doing a bunch of these shrinks for myself anyway, so why not share the love if it would benefit others as well?

I'm in.... If I had the space I would do it. I've used both hydro expand and hydro shrink many many times as a professional sculptor. Dead easy. Needs a dedicated area though.
If and when you dive in I am on board. There are plenty of "double dipper" collectors here (those that collect 3.75"and 6") so all you have to do is ask. You already have access to anyone you want! Great idea, would be super happy having someone doing this.

Thanks ukmu. I don't really have the space just yet either, which is why I'd keep it small to start. Once my fiancé and I buy a house, I'll be able to set up a workspace area.

Well go buy that house and sign that pre-nup!
It does take a lot and needs to be not moved about, just left to do its thang.

I'm looking for an Ages of Action samurai. It has almost everything I need for a custom idea I have but I can't find any for sale. Last I see in a Google search one sold for $12 at some point. I think that's a fair price.

Apparently it's got the names of two historical Japanese figures (Tokugawa Hideyoshi) as the character name, if that helps.

The Angel Forge has a few. You can find them listed both under the "female" and

Shrinking question: I have always wanted 4" Space 1999 figures. How difficult is it to shrink from 8" to 4" and is it worth the effort?

Hard... Is a big word. Difficult at first, sure. Impossible to master, no. Two or three goes and you pretty much know all there is. It just needs a dedicated area and is pricey.
You may need to shrink it twice, or even a third to half the size. Just depends, I would say go for it if you got the space (not a lot just somewhere where it won't be disturbed) and the scratch.

It's totally worth the effort if you really want the figure in that scale and you're going to make multiples. I've shrunk NECA heads down to 1/18 scale in one shrink, so it's not that hard and you should be able to do it with an 8" figure. The mix ratio is printed on the bottle of hydroshrink and it'll give you a decent idea of what you need to do to get the size you're looking for.

Complete onslaught BAF (older version) on Ebay UK for £20 if anyone interested? Not me selling, but thought it's an excellent price and wanted to share.

Does anyone else think we need a Funko/Super 7/Reaction Figure Compatibility thread? I mean it would be really disrespectful and insulting to Hasbro, Mattel, and others for their figure offerings to be rated based solely upon their compatibility with this small companies product. Poor Dwight, I can't think of anyone who deserves it more.
