so i take it there wasn't a marvel panel of some sort? man what a difference that year made. went to NYCC last year, hit the panel, saw vonner talking excitedly about the line, full presence there, and then now it's crickets.

Hasbro doesnt really seem to give 2 farts about the MU line, They send thier reps out to SDCC and NYCC( I really wonder about this, I think they hire them at a local bar before the shows) to spew total BS. Why cant they just staight up say what is really going on with the line(Wait maybe they cant because NO ONE there knows what the hell is going on.) All I know for a FACT is they have a licence to produce a product that there is a great demand for and are totally f@#king it up.
SDCC there wasn't much to say, we saw a few prototypes and they still have the rest of this years series to work through. There's still much to be excited about with the two three packs still coming besides the rest of this year's series with nova etc. As for "what's really going on." No company tells you that. Just look at mattel and their constantly changing answers or refusal to answer. There are dates where they can tell you stuff and until then, they really can't say a word on certain things. Sometimes marketing data will change answers too and product we weren't supposed to see at all, has found an outlet before they could tell us about it. The same is true for all industries. Even DC and Marvel themselves who constantly have to say "new project but can't tell you what yet." Just like covers can randomly change over at and they'll not want to talk about why, all industries have these little hiccups. Including having info and pics or prototypes they can't always show. That's just part of the biz. As for distribution. That's a mixture of Hasbro case assortment packing (which is getting fixed around the Jubilee wave) and retailer demands. It's middleman syndrome. Hasbro knows what we want, but a retailer imposes demands. The retailer is the one trying to tell hasbro what they think the consumers want... Which yeah never works out right, but the retailers are the ones ordering the cases so hasbro has to listen. The same is true for all toy companies. I was working on a custom using She Hulk today. Has anyone noticed the change in the plastic used? I gave up on all but the head.

Except they're really not. We just got two new waves, working through revision cases now with shopping holidays coming up and another new wave about to hit. All fantastic figures too.

New wave about to hit?????? Well the Hasbro Orders for December have already been turned in. So the earliest would be January. That is not about to hit. Distribution still sucks, Have been in Houston the last month and have seen Very few of Wave 19, 20. In fact all I have seen on the pegs is a solitary Kraven and New Hulk. Maybe its just scalpers buying up the 1 case that did manage to make it here. LOL.
You're not looking at the timing aspect. It's not order then arrive that week. It's warehouse order in bulk that arrives that then gets divided up to smaller warehouses that the stores place orders on. As for your store comparison, I already covered that above. That falls on the corporate end of the retail outlet, not hasbro. Like I said. It's not as simple as store places order and shipment arrives from hasbro unless you're a smaller outlet that doesn't have several large warehouses of merchandise. |

The e retailers get order sheets every month, Hasbro lets them know which product will be availabe( usually about 2 to 3 months from the date of order) Then places like BBTS and others list the product as preorders with an expected delivery date. AND this product does come directly from a Hasbro warehouse. THere will NO new wave hitting this year, looking January , February at the earliest.

Yeah I've seen 1 Kraven in the wild other than that 0 wave 18. I noticed some wave 19 product when the Avengers dvd came out, but no more.
The same thing happened last year with the Storm/Psylocke wave.Popped into stores briefly then vanished till spring. The Avengers brings up a good point. I'm not overly worried about MU in the future because I consider the movie lines an extension of MU. I'm not a comic guy so as time has gone on I find they're releasing characters I know less about. Do you consider them fully seperate or integrated lines? |

Get some Simple Green to wash th release agent off, let it air-dry and then primer it with Colorbond or Duplicolor for vinyl- both are made to bond to plastics, giving the customizer a perfect surface to paint on.

NYCC didn't show much in ANY of the Hasbro lines - not MU, Star Wars, Transformers, GI Joe, or even MLP! What we saw were some stuff that doesn't often get the spotlight, many of which runs are struggling. With a new cartoon and movies still being produced, I think 4" figures are safe in the Marvel Universe. I am far more concerned about articulation going forward, but not figures being dropped.

After talking one on one with Falcon at SDCC, I have little concern that 6" or 4" are going anywhere in 2013.

You must have been happy to see the Mysterio figure. Did Falcon give any indication that Legends and movie lines would receive more of Hasbro's focus for while?

It's probably not the plastic but the relese agent that is used to seperate the mold from the plastic.

It seems to be a softer plastic. I?way wondering if a change in the plastic used could indicate a desire to cut costs but keep the line alive. |
