Hell, the prices aren't even the same from store to store in the same metro area. There's no way Hasbro can control something like that, and certainly not across multiple, major retailers like Target and Walmart. They're not Nintendo.
Speaking of which, minor update on MU at Target. Went to an out-of-the-way Target to pick up a TF DVD set tonight and they had MU single packs at $7.99 still, with comic packs at $12.99.
