I foresee this figure repainted in the future as Psylock (hopefully with a new head)
Never was that big a fan of Ms. Marvel but the figure looks good |

I like this figure. I have been let down in the past by female figures in this scale (eg: GI Joe, DCIH - They just don't look that great), so I'm hoping Hasbro does a better job with these MU figs. I personally don't know much about her, except for her run-in with Rogue, which is why I'll be picking her up. |

Looks good. I think I might go completionist on the single packs for this series.
Then you'll probably be more interested in her classic costume variant that's in the same wave.

And a quick swap with the chase version of the figure and you have a Dark Avenger Mrs. Marvel as well.
I am digging MU as a way to build both the Avengers and the Dark Avengers. So far for the Dark Avengers I have/or have seen the following: 1) Brown Costume Wolverine 2) Iron Patriot (swap lower arms and legs of Iron Man on Stealth version and add Flat White paint on the Face mask and wallah! It will do until MU releases one) 3) Ms. Marvel....soon enough 4) Red Hulk...soon enough (who is rumored to be joining soon) although Grey Hulk works well as well 5) Black Costume Spider Man...soon (Venom) 6) Now I need a Hawkeye since Bullseye & Ronin were already released I might have to custom up a Sentry and have already created an Ares.

FYI, that's not a chase figure. It's a completely different figure, like Human Torch and Iron Fist. It will have its own number.

Okay this Punisher looks way better than the 1st one, I dig the Steve Dillon based head sculpt, and the smaller hands. Wish it had different guns though.
Classic Iron Man has a great sculpt, but I hope the gold is painted not just on the mask... Ms. Marvel loses elbow swivels but even then the female figures in MU are much more articulated than Mattel's DCIH females. I can definitely see a Pyslocke repaint coming out of that. Black costume Spiderman has a sculpt that throws me off in certain areas...something bugs me about the ankles and torso. Other than that I'm buying it, I'm glad it won't take too long to see that version on shelves. Thing looks like he has hips that can actually move unlike Hulk...which has hip articulation that is almost immobilized. Quote:

The head is a much nicer improvement over the first one, which looked bad. ML Ultimate Wolverine bad. The art is a bizarre choice though, makes him look like a teenager.

Well, sort of. I realize in the comic it is Daken but the figure has a different look in the face than the Tiger Stripe Yellow Wolverine so it works well. I said Brown Costume Wolverine b/c he IS Wolverine in Dark Avengers much in the way Bullseye IS Hawkeye, and Venom IS Spiderman as per the public's knowledge. As for the claws, I have been trying to figure out a good way to customize this (too bad Hasbro didn't give us too sets of hands for the swap) as the claws are stuck together (the Marvel Legends Showdown claws on Wolverine were much better done). Anyhoo, I wouldn't be surprised if the Hasbro team on XM Origins doesn't simply do said swap in a future wave and re-release as a 'new' figure. I must say though, Hasbro could easily make a killing with a few paint apps and head swaps and fire out a banging 6 figure Box Set of the Dark Avengers.
1) Iron Patriot is basically done, just new paint needed. 2) Venom, once again, done, no change needed but could add a second or new head with a big tooth grin (hopefully more like the original McFarlane version and not the goofy misshaped head and giant stupid tongue hanging version the character became). 3) Ms. Marvel, take modern head, old school body add cape. Done 4) Wolverine Daken, replace claws, done. Well at least they are 2/3 of they way. If Rulk is joining they are even closer, then it's just a matter of adding one of the outstanding figures Sentry, Hawkeye or Ares. I would think Sentry or Hawkeye would be the easiest. Sentry is a standard body with a new paint job, cape and head (they could user the Punisher body as a base easily, that thing was huge). Hawkeye could be refactored from the DD/Bullseye or XF Wolverine pretty easily as well.

Very nice! I may end up getting Ms Marvel(current), the Thing, and black Spiderman with the new Punisher being a possibility as well.

I'll be getting them all, as this is going to be my first ever completionist figure line I collect.

The hands on Punisher look the same... not that I mind really. Oddly, I liked the first one.
Black spidey, iron man and Thing are all A+ figures. Never been a fan of Ms Marvel, but I might get the modern outfit. The Hand Ninja is alright, but he should have been in a multipack. I won't pay full price for that. I want to complete this line, but I don't want to pay full price for figures I find crappy, like Iron Fist, Classic Ms. Marvel. especially at the price Hasbro's charging for these. |

Not a fan per se, but I did pick him up for completion's sake. However, now that I have him in hand, his big head is growing on me. I might end up referring to him as Frank's mentally-challenged little brother who dresses up in cosplay outfits.

Please don't. I think the body, choice of skull, and weapons were fine enough, but that head. The head! It seems oversized, like Frank's wearing a mask, and an ugly one at that. I don't think it helps that it reminds me of the latest War Journal series, which I couldn't stand at all after Marvel Knights and MAX.
I'm not the only one who isn't a fan of wave 1 Frank, am I? I not a huge fan of the figure but I wanted one sealed for my collection. Wave 1 Punisher is not getting carried over. So if you see one grab him.

The rest of the line is awesome so far though. I just need Bullseye, but I haven't seen him anywhere. Then it's waiting on wave 3 to hit. I also need Beast and Magneto from the Wolverine and the X-Men line, but I haven't seen them. After that, I'll be waiting for Nightcrawler and X-Force Wolvie to come out. I finished wave 1 of XMO: Wolverine though. I'm just waiting to see wave 2 (movie figures) in stores. By the way, any Mass people: I saw some Punishers left at the Walmart in Raynham, MA. |

I only bought the Punisher figure so that I can buy 2 Wave 3 Punishers to swap out the head with V.1.
Bullseye and Daredevil blow monkey chunks too. Huge upper torso and a small lower torso (they share the same mold). Plus XF Wolverine is taller than them both. I've come around on the rest, particularly Open Hand, Can't Punch Iron Fist. I added those Yellow Ninja Force Claws Scarlett/Chun Li came with and he is now mighty passable. Swapped out the Black Panther hands for Tri-Gate Wolvie Claw Hands and that improved 1000%. Punisher V.1 also works well for some cool Customs. I can see the Body being reused for a Crossbones fig or some other giant Marvel character.

If you're into the "What If?" universe, he would make a pretty decent Frank Castle as Venom.

Are there any variants from Wave 1 and 2? I see there is a variant in this wave. Wow. I really had to figure out what the FF stood for in MUFF. Because my mind wandered off into naughty thoughts. hehe. |
