The reality is that there is a clear reason why the MattyCollector/Digital River pairing even exists. It's simple:
These lines don't sell well enough globally to warrant mass distribution, so the teams involved and the outsourced distribution process are a low priority. Don't forget, Mattel is actually the biggest toy company on the planet, far bigger even than Hasbro overall, but their focus is on a bunch of lines aimed truly at children, not our niche 80s nostalgia action. Still, the only way to generate action is to keep sending in the complaints...I would however recommend sending them higher up the chain so that eventually a VP pays someone a nasty visit and sets things straight. My 2 cents... James Mine came in fine thankfully.

That's nothing new. They always want pictures, then they want more & more pictures and never do shit. They wanted hundreds of pics of the black plastic showing under DB Skeletor. Like it was totally inconceivable that the paint could rub off and expose the plastic underneath. I love this line. But Mattel is awful. Fuck them in the ass with a life size Ram Man!

I looked a little further into the Granamyr prob. Do not try and attatch his limbs while the toy is cold fresh out the box. Let him warm up or use a hair dryer to his joints before attatching. It's never good to move any joints on a figure after it has been sitting in 20 degree weather all day.

The constant defects and the piss poor service from Digital River has made it more of a burden to collect this line than anything else. In fact, I am kicking myself for getting the 2013 sub, because I am stuck with getting figures I have no feelings for anymore.

Mantenna is a must. I am pretty sure they will manage to put him out somehow.

They better do Mantenna. After Ram Man, that's really the only new figure I want from the MOTUC line

What, no Two-Bad or Horde Trooper folks? I want at least all the vintage MOTU toys made in MOTUC classics (that includes later ones like Rio Blast and Ninjor too). We still have a ways to go:
MOTUC from Vintage Visual Checklist MOTUC is one of my favorite lines to collect right now, so I hope it keeps going until all vintage toys have been updated. Although I do want prototype characters like Eldor and the Horde Mummy as well as 200x characters like Calix and Prahvus and some Filmation characters like Strongarm too! |

Hmmmm, there are only 65 vintage He-Man figures? Maybe it would be easier to collect only the vintage guys with a few exceptions (She-Ra, Shadow Weaver, Catra, Marlena) instead of collecting every single character.

I agree with wanting every vintage Masters fig made into MOTUC and wanting 200X and Filmation characters. It's just that it seems like 50% of the figs made now are characters I don't even know or care about and I've been into He-Man from day 1 1982. Mostly it's the Filmation characters that don't appeal to me but even 200X Dekker is boring to me. The 30th Anniversary sub was a big waste, I didn't even open up most of them.
Mattel will never give us the complete core characters because they know we would stop buying if they did so they thin out the subs with characters no one really asked for. Coming up we have Netossa POP , Ram Man Vintage, Jitsu Vintage, Fang Man Filmation, King He-Man ?,Snake Face Vintage, Fighting Foe Men?, Karatti NA ,Octavia?, Strobo?, & Geldor? Hardly any of these I would call most wanted figs aside from Ram Man & Jitsu. I'm all for bolstering the Snake Men and Horde but to me there are way to many non traditional figures being offered. With this years subscription holder early offerings deal I think that some of theses figs/ accessory packs will become sought after due to unavailability and low production numbers. I can't wait for the first figure to sell out before the general public sale date. I'm trying to stay positive. It's just so hard when I see how much $ this line is costing me. I hope they continue to scale back in 2013 and limit the amount of non sub merch they put out.

Actually, I think Ram-Man, Snake Face, and King He-Man are the only ones for the year so far I would actually want. I don't care about Netossa, why give me her before important characters like Angella, Glimmer, or Castaspella? I don't care for the NA characters, have no interest in Evil Fisto, and Octavia's only redeeming quality is she is a Horde member. Don't care about Geldor or Strobo, and I sure as hell do not want the Fighting Foe Men. In fact, if it weren't for the DCU sub, I would be cancelling my MOTUC sub after Ram-Man.
Honestly, I don't even know what I want to collect in the line anymore. I keep going back on forth on if I want to sell off all but like the first 16 original characters or what.

I actually want the fighting foe men to add to The Horde. If they didn't come with Horde gear I would of passed.

I have the book. It's a fascinating read. Lots of really cool artwork and background info. It's really interesting to see the concepts and thought process of the development of the line.

Got Granamyr yesterday. opened him up and let him warm up before I poped him together. No issues on my end. I love him. Best oversized fig to date. The best part is that my girlfriend like him too so I left him popping a squat on the livingroom table for now. So worth the wait.

Aww it makes me sad to hear people hating on this line, I'm just starting to get into it, it seems like I'm always late to the party

I don't exactly hate the line, but it has gone on for way too long, has way too many figures, and is filled with way too much defects and piss poor management that it has pretty much ruined the line for me.
It is more of a chore to deal with MattyCollector on a monthly basis than it should be. Whether it be credit cards not being updated properly, or Digital River not understanding the concept of someone moving, to issues that should not exist in 2013, or even 2006, when it comes to customer service. Having to deal with DR when something goes wrong is frustrating and is more of a hassle then anything else. Add on top that Mattel is cutting corners left and right while raising the cost of the figures on a yearly basis, and you have a line that started out with promise and has become a universal joke. I understand toylines have defects, and I'm okay with that. However, I am not okay when 7/12 figures have some sort of defect.

I have a question. I have She-Ra and her skirt really limits her movement so how does that work with Swiftwind?

Do you have the regular She -Ra or the Bubble Power version. The regular had the old hip mold and will not fit on Swiftwind , the new Bubble Power version has the new hip mold. I did the parts swap on BP and regular She Ra and now "regular" She Ra can ride Swiftwind. Basically get a BP She Ra and take all the BP stuff off and swap the heads and BP stuff and you are pretty good to go. The BP body with the regular head will sit better in the saddle. The only real difference is the arm gauntlets and boots are a little different, I think, but overall you really don't notice.

ok, that's doable, especially since my she-ra has a really loose ankle that makes her fall over all the time

Is anyone interested in this Castle Grayskull? If it's not complete, it's damn near complete (it was unopened when I bought it about a year or so ago), and comes with the original box. Electronics all work. I'm looking for $65 shipped. No payment plans, please.
*No figures are included*
