I noticed the tip of my SDCC He-Ro's sword was chipped off, which was annoying, but one of my trading buddies sold me his non-SDCC He-Ro for $20. I also bought from him now ultra-rare TRU He-man. Finally a reason to use that light blue power sword, axe and sword that came with the first Weapons Pak and at least now I have two of the He-Ro variants. The purple gem and the green gem.

Yeah, it's going to be a while, that's for sure. Know what figure doesn't look at cool in person? Hurricane Hordak. Something about vac metal looks cheap to me and I am not a fan and it was very poorly executed with him, that's for sure. It also tarnishes and is prone to chipping, flaking and other wear issues. I bought a second regular Hordak figure just so I could put the Hurricane Hordak arm cannon onto the original figure. Plus then I can do the double armbands thing and the capeless cowl. Maybe even paint him up like the Filmation Hordak which I thought was so badass.

You should give your Grizzlor a shampoo and blow dry.

No, he is going to be a dirty, greasy, hairy son of a bitch. Blow dry isn't a bad idea though..

Have Teela and Man At Arms been re-released recently? I read that the 2002 style heads are retired over at Toy Guru's blog,
BOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want MOTUC Teela 2002 style! She kicked ass in that series!

**EDIT** BTW, someone made a sweet Teela MOTUC custom head with a long ponytail but I can't find it right now. Actually, if you think about it, the MOTU Classics head is more like a combination of vintage Teela and 2002 Teela. In the original MOTU, Teela's hair was quite different and it was clear that her hair was very short. On this figure, you can tell that her hair is quite long, but is simply up in a bun. As far as I'm aware, there never were 2002 heads for Teela or Man-At-Arms, although I would agree that in this case, I would have liked a 2002 head for Teela. Man-At-Arms pretty much looks exactly the same throughout, so, unless you mean the non-mustache version AKA young Man-At-Arms, AKA the vintage Man-At-Arms style, he was re-released (officially) and still had the 2 swappable heads. The mustachioed version is the FILMATION version. They put a mustache on him because they felt that he didn't look fatherly enough without it and in a way, they're right. Like I said, would have loved a 2002 styled head or at least with her hair parted and a long ponytail instead of the bun. 2002 Teela had a very attractive design to modern standards. Huge chunk of 2002 had a major Egyptian influence though where as old school He-man was more of a Skandinavian/Buck Rogers influence. If I misread what you said and you're actually saying that ToyGuru says that they'll never be using those heads, then yeah, that could be true, although they've said this before and we ended up with tons of 2002 stuff so take it with a grain of salt.

I want a Man At Arms with PONYTAIL like in that series! He looked old but he definitely looked like he could kick your ass if he wanted to. ToyGuru indirectly hinted that the 2002 style could come out of retirement but hell...this year is the TENTH ANNIVERSARY OF IT! I want more 2002 stuff but fully articulated! However, I am plenty enjoying MOTUC so far. Kick ass line.

Would be nice to get a re-released with his "vintage" head, helmeted mustache and helmetless with ponytail.

Probably won't happen, though. I mean they're already doing Snakeman-At-Arms, he'll be yet another Man At Arms variant and heck, the Eternian Palace Guards are pretty much retooled Man-At-Arms figures, too. Same goes for Teela. Already got two versions of Teela. Never say never, though. And too anime? I agree... but who said they had to use the face from 200x. Just use the hair. Battleground Evil-Lyn was a good example of using her pre-existing MOTUC headsculpt with her 200x hair. Although, as someone who already owns every figure in the line, I'm not so sure I want all these Teela and Man-At-Arms variants before important characters like Mekaneck, Ram Man, Mantenna and Jitsu get released. Perhaps, this was what the 30th Anniversary sub line should have been composed of instead of what it ended up being. Then again, there are people who like the new characters. I'll probably pass, though, except maybe Draego-man. Obviously getting the Snakemen, though. And Horde Prime if he's a 30th Anniversary guy, but other than that, I'm mainly only interested in the original characters.

If they make a MAA with a pony tail I'll quit this line.

Your right, bald with a full Fu Manchu and a tattoo on his head. I like this idea.
Seriously though, what is wrong with this? Come to think of it, would of been cool if He-Man came with the 2002 style head.

As long as I can put his helmet on I have no problems with this one. I really enjoyed the art for the 2002 releases. I see Anime but also MOTU in general reeks of the 1980s so which one is worse?
And if they are afraid of being defined of a genre why did they even put out Mighty Spector who could be any 1990s comic book character. Jeesh.

Of course these are just my feelings, but I believe that show already had a toyline and it failed because kids don't know who He-Man is and the adults who were kids when the cartoon was on want the Classics.

And if they are afraid of being defined of a genre why did they even put out Mighty Spector who could be any 1990s comic book character. Jeesh. The women of MOTUC have more muscular proportions. They aren't super slender. They're somewhat stocky and curvacious. Mighty Spector and the majority of the 30th Anniversary line is a one-off. As they said, it doesn't have much to do with the main line and they created this because they wanted to put out a few new figures without interfering with the current product. I'm sure there's a lot of support for a 200x inspired sub line in the spirit of the 30th Anniversary line, but that just isn't my thing. In my opinion, I think that Mattel looked at it this way. 1980s He-man was ultra successful and continues to have a massive following with new and returning fans all the time. 200x, as good as I thought it was, failed. The cartoon failed, the toys failed. You know who watched 200x MOTU and bought 200x MOTU toys? Probably a small number of new fans who are very young and a small portion of fans who were already vintage MOTU fans. It had it's run, it failed. This MOTUC line is succeeding with the already large vintage fanbase. This fanbase is hardcore. You'll be hardpressed to find a 200x fan who'll dump $600 on an OPENED figure, but the vintage fans had around 25 years to line their pockets and for some of them, $600 is a drop in the bucket for what they've spent on toys. The 200x inspired stuff is a nod to the 200x fans and it's an attempt to broaden the demographic but the 200x inspired figures have consistently done WORSE than the regular vintage figures. This can be seen with the fact that Keldor, Count Marzo, Zodak, Chief Carnivus, Faceless One and Battleground Evil Lyn despite all being cool figures, are worth the least in the series. At the end of the day, all Mattel cares about is volume and dollar signs. Quote:
I wouldn't really quit the line, but I wouldn't buy it. What you're posting isn't a "Classic" which is what this line is. I guess it's a canon thing for me. That IS NOT He-Man or MAA, it's Japanimation bullshit.
Of course these are just my feelings, but I believe that show already had a toyline and it failed because kids don't know who He-Man is and the adults who were kids when the cartoon was on want the Classics. Like I said, I don't mind little homages and nods to the 200x line, but unless you can come up with a damn good reason why and how a 200x inspired line can and should be integrated into the current MOTUC line without affecting it's current client-base, I think it should stay the way it is. To sum it up, my feelings are that I wouldn't mind a 200x He-man head, hell, he'd look great on my King Grayskull figure who is essentially IS 200x He-man with a different head and removable cape... Same with the Man-At-Arms head with the ponytail, fine, add it. BUT, include it with a figure that's already coming out. ie: the Alfredo Alcala Skeletor head that came with Demo-Man. Think about it though fellas, why wouldn't you want MORE? Keldor, Black Zodak, Grizzlors loin cloth, Fisto alt head, belt, giant sword and so on are all from the 2000x. Having that option is great and I find it silly that no one would want more options for their figures.
