Mattel also has reinvigorated its collector offering with the new 6-inch Total Heroes line, and the four-inch DC Multiverse line of hyper-detailed action figures for the more serious collector.
There is SO much wrong with that I can't even begin. For the more serious collector! |

I pretty much considered this news a forgone conclusion, but congrats to Mattel anyway.
While I agree the Keaton head-sculpt looks kind of bad, I thought they did an excellent job with Stamp's Zod.

Playscool yes..with rescue bots and imaginex(/) DC and Marvel is clearly for the kids..Total Heroes is a subliminal take over of 17-22+ POA dummed dowm to 5POA so you wont complain in the future when most of the offerings are of this type. |

Not like they are going to do anything worth while with it.

At best we see Superman vs Batman stuff. At worst more Total Heroes junk that collectors do not want.

I wish they'd actually do something with it. I'd really like to see some more DCUC figures.

That ship was Club Infinite Earths Mattel figures that since they didn't get the numbers there is no reason right now to do DCUC figures

CLUB Infinite Earths was a disaster because they use a crap mailing service. The RETAIL figures were always elusive and they never made enough for us to find them.

either way there wont be DCUC style figures because CIE didn't go forward. If you wanted them and didn't buy them you only have yourself to blame, I'm sorry you all feel that Brick and morter but flat out it isn't.

Awful news.....awful news.......AWFUL!!!!
Are they serious? Mattel killed the 6" collectors line by offering crappy figures. They were not as good a Toybiz who did it better and cheaper, and not as good as Hasbro who did it better. Why am I reading this nonsense about how terrific they are and what a good job they have done? I take this as an insult by DC for even writing that as a reason. I am one the verge of cancelling some of my DCC preorders from BBTS. I am upset reading that. It's a slap to my face. If they said they did a terrible job and they were the only ones offering the dough for the license I would have been happy. No one else is as upset as me? If I ever get a DC figure, I'll either 3D print it or get one from China. The balls DC and Mattel shows telling me it's for kids and charging near $20 for garbage. Garbage explanation, garbage company and garbage properties. |

How many DC lines and shows have they sunk at this point?
CN stated that the poor sales of Young Justice figures was why Young Justice got cancelled, but is it so surprising when instead of offering figures that fit right in with the on the pegs next to them DCUC, they offer anemic 3 inch stick figures as the regular line? Then to cater to the crowd who also has DCUC, offers figures with a crap ton of weird accessories to drive the price up and after years can't even complete the core team? (But they fit a Batman in there!) Had Green Lantern any toy support, CN would've renewed it. Such is the 21st Century CN's attitude that toy lines keep shows alive. So yeah, I feel no joy in knowing that a company that doesn't do a very good job (at anything boys related it would seem) keeps sitting on the DC license. |

So yeah, I feel no joy in knowing that a company that doesn't do a very good job (at anything boys related it would seem) keeps sitting on the DC license. Both YJ and Green Lantern were screwed and we didn't even know it at first. Hell, Green Lantern specifically. Mattel did such a shitty job with their peg warming movie toys (which could have been really good if they put any effort into them at all) that retailers showed absolutely no interest in a toyline for the show, dooming it from the start. The decisions they made with YJ toys still astound me. "No, let's not do a 3.75" series that'll fit in with other lines and encourage people to buy them... let's make a ton of 4" figures which all have the exact same odd pose!" I wouldn't have glanced at them twice when I was a kid, either. Toy Biz's 5" Marvel toys were just about the bottom of the barrel for me back then, and that was before kids had so much technology to screw around with instead of spending money on toys. |

Manufacturers can only suggest a retail price. Rarely are they able to enforce one. Quote:
