Wait, does this mean Macfarlane aren't doing them anymore? I'd hate that to be the case.

Not sure. They could, conceivably, sub license through Mattel if they are truly the master license holder. But my guess would be McFarlane is out. We'll know for sure come this weekend.

If Mattel is taking over figure duties, then I feel bad for Halo fans. The MacFarlane figures were great. I look at the other six inch lines Mattel has put out, and I can't help but cringe at the thought of Spartans with the poor paint and detail of, say, the BvS stuff.
Edit: just saw the pictures. They're definitely a step down. They look too much like toys, which isn't something that usually bothers me, but considering the originals were so great, it's hard to swallow. Last edited by scarecrow; 02-12-2016 at 09:03 AM.. |

Lets not forget the poor sales at retail will then lead to matty oin a halo sub then when it tanks matty will lean on their dfault blame the fans excuse. Honestly it shoulda stayed ith mcfarlane as mattel is a s#%t company for boys toys anymore.

I won't lie my gut reaction here is total unbridled excitement for the 6 inch figures.
While I agree they do look more "toy-ish", the 30+ points of articulation really has me excited. What I want to know though is how well these will scale with other 6" figures? (Also hey a Spartan Locke figure that can actually move his damn legs!)

Halo Mega BloksDual Mode UNSC Warthog - ANOTHER Warthog?!?!
Halo Mega Bloks Heroes Asst. II - YES! Sgt. Forge, Spartan DeMarco, and the long awaited ODST Romeo! BoomCo. Halo UNSC MA5 Blaster - going to have to get one and paint it! Halo Warthog + 12” Master Chief - a Warthog that fits a 12" figure, might have potential. The figure's going straight to the scrap box. Halo 6″ Figure Assortment (SRP: $19.99) – NOOOOOOOOOOOO! Please, McFarlane if you can hear me, PLEASE release Linda and Vale before your license expires and Mattel takes over, so I can at least complete my Blue and Osiris Teams. And the cancelled Romeo too...but that may be too much to ask. Halo Ghost Vehicle + 6” Figure - I got a couple of McFarlane Ghost vehicles when they went on the clearance bin at Walmart for $5 a piece. I don't think these will sell well. Halo 12″ Figure Assortment - better than Hasbro's 12" shampoo bottles, I guess. Halo Energy Sword - might have to get one...just because. |

Wow, those hips and legs look terrible.
I just texted one of my friends to tell him I am so sorry for his loss.

I'm not a Halo fan, beyond the first installment, but I'm interested to see their 6" products for this license. The potential for Mattel to learn some new sculpting tricks excites me. I'm still holding out hope for a return to DCUC at some point and the creation of new techniques would benefit any return to 6" DC line.

Wow, I guess Microsoft got tired of good Halo figures from McFarlane and decided to have Mattel shit up the license instead.

Just had a close look at the 6" figure pic and they don't look too bad to me. They've got decent, detailed sculpts but I think they could do with more paint. Macfarlane always made their Spartan figures look rough and dirty, not to a ridiculous amount but enough to make them like they have actually been in battle but these just look squeaky clean. Mind you, it could just be the lighting for the picture.

Wow, I love the look of the six inch figure line. Maybe now my Halo toys can scale someone decently with some of the other toys on my shelf?
Also, I love love love Boomco's first Halo offerings, and these look very promising. This is all fantastic news, to me. I can forget that the 12 inch figures exist easily enough, because yeah. Some serious cost cutting, there. |

Exactly. This is the exact same feelings I had when Mattel got MEGA brands. And now we're seeing fewer and fewer sets from a couple of lines that have only been dwindling in sales in the last few years. Even though MEGA kept them chugging along anyway, cause, you know, of the fans.

Vale is not there. Unless there are other pics I'm not seeing here?

Man, hopefully when mattel takes over, they can make 1:18 scale halo figures, man, I'd really spend my money on those.
